OEM service part
Perfect rejuvenation of my Delonghi machine, plug and play... the old unit had after about 10 years become worn and the mesh filter on the top was causing problems despite the soaking routine as per manual. Hopefully I'll get another 10 years or more out the machine, quality prevails.

New Lease of Life in 15yr old machine!
I’ve had my Delonghi Magnifica (ESAM 4200) for roughly 10yrs, was given to me by my Dad after he’d owned it for about 5yrs and upgraded. It has made multiple coffees daily without fault! It’s been a real workhorse.I’ve noticed in recent months that the inside of the machine was getting a lot of spilt grounds, with it getting progressively worse and becoming a right mess after each cup. I also noticed the first cup of coffee being extremely weak and looking like dishwater, yuck! After a small amount of research I came across this part. Other than regular removal and cleaning in hot soapy water I was never aware that you should replace the seals and re-lubricate every now and then. For £30 I thought I’d just replace the 15yr old part and chance it makes a difference.I also ordered some food safe silicone lube to lubricate the gearing sat behind this part too.Anyway, part arrived next day, and WOW! Huge difference, coffee is lovely and strong, no mess at all inside the machine with the pucks forming tightly and emptying in the little internal bin as they should. Like having a new machine again! This part along with the silicone has also made the machine a lot quieter when initially turning on, it no longer screeches and definitely sounds smoother in operation.Definitely recommend a replacement if yours is due and never been done like mine, makes a big difference.

Do not purchase until you are confident about changing unit
My brewing unit was not producing stable pellets, coffee waste gathering inside machine. Rather than buying new tyres for the existing unit i decided to replace brewing unit to save time. Unfortunately I ordered a unit from an Amazon dealer which was faulty and got stuck at the top of the machine. I then spent two hours trying to repair machine. The solution was to remove the four security screws from the base of the machine and then by turning the gear and belt I was able to lower the brewing unit to the position where it could be removed. I sent back the faulty unit, and ordered another one direct from Amazon, which worked first time.Warning please do not try to change the brewing unit until you have watched the various videos on Youtube. if the replacement unit sticks save time by removing the security screws at the base of the machine remove panel and turn the gear wheel.

Return your Delonghi ESAM machine to coffee perfection
This has to be the best thirty pounds I've spent in some while. Bean to cup coffee machines are not cheap, and our venerable Delonghi ESAM 5400 has already done stirling service. Recently however it had taken to serving up a cup of ditch-water in place of the first cup brewed, and only thereafter providing the usual coffee... or at least I thought it was the usual coffee.A little googling told me the brewer unit needed cleaning and lubrication - and as our machine had been running for three or four years without any maintenance I figured this might be the cause of our trouble. A quick dismantling of the old brewer revealed it was well gunked up and partially siezed to match - which porbably explained the first cup being weaker as the plunger wouldnt move all the way to the top until it had been pre-wetted.Enter Amazon - and an order of a brand new brew unit for a very reasonable thirty pounds. Pop this in the machhine. Switch on, warm up, flush, brew and OMG! Coffee - only not the muck we've been drinking for the last six months or more - REAL coffee with real complexity of flavour and depth of aroma again! Now I know what some readers will think. Why did we leave it so long? The answer is that the deterioration happens slowly, and you just kind of get used to it, unti, you forget what good home-brewed coffee tastes like. So if you like me you've been remiss in looking after your machine - do yourself a favour and invest in a new brew unit. You won't regret it!

Replacing the old one
I ordered this with a replacement steam nozzle and valve. This was easy to swap out, literally push and click. The coffees are better than ever. Big thumbs up.
