Good quality wood, nicely finished--but check the width of your wall studs
This railing arrived in perfect condition--it was carefully packed prior to shipment. Wood quality was good, color was the same as it appeared on the Amazon website. The finish was satin smooth. Instructions for installation were very clear. It is important to note, however, that the brackets included with this railing have 3 holes for installation that are placed in a triangle configuration on the portion of the plate that will be attached to the wall. We needed to screw the brackets into the wall studs based on the type of wall we had. Unfortunately, our wall studs are only 1.25" wide and two of the holes on the bracket are 1 5/8" apart. Therefore, we had to purchase a different style of bracket from our local store. This was a not a deal breaker, but just something to keep in mind. Overall we are very satisified with this product.

Very happy with this. I had to have surgery with no handrail in our staircase. Very sturdy , looks great and husband mentioned easy to install.Highly recommend

Worked well and easy to install
This is the third one of these I have bought and they work well. However, I have been installing them with mounting brackets from Home Depot since the ones provided with the rails are designed to be mounted in sheet rock and are not very attractive. I prefer to mount my brackets with a single screw in the wall studs.

Beautiful clean look
I bought 6 foot and 8 foot railings. They are gorgeous and match my oak wood steps perfectly. Smooth hand grip all the way not like the metal ones I almost bought which have anchors that bolt above the railing which stop the hand from smoothly gliding along. Contractor installed it 36 inches above each step into the studs. He would have preferred better screws and anchors so brought his own. More expensive than metal railings but glad I spent the money.
