It works and I’ve recommended it to others
The media could not be loaded. I ordered this in January for a pinched nerve in my neck that caused radial pain in my shoulder and down to my fingers. This is the specific device my physical therapist recommended because it had controlled weight. She did not recommend the ones where the pulley system has you holding the other end for tension because you won’t get accurate weight. With this one, I can control the weight by how much water I put in the bag.PROS:- It works- I can set it up on a door and leave it for when I need it- Once you know how to get into/out of it, it is quick in and out if you understand how pulleys work.-It was comfortable enough I nearly fell asleep in it during several ‘middle of the night emergency sessions’ where it provided relief.- The straps that go around your head are padded and comfortable. They do not cut into my skin.- I easily traveled with this on a road trip and used it in the hotels by attaching it to a door or armoire.- The bag is super thick and I don’t worry about punctures. Very durable!- The seal on the bag has no leaks. I will put the water in it and only add to it as I increase weight. I leave the water in it for months. I just lay the bag on the floor. Never had a leak. I sometimes set it in a sink but not necessary.-This is only $25 compared to the $$$ version that the physical therapist sells. Hence why my therapist quietly pulled up Amazon and showed me this one. Very good value for the money.CONS:- It only came with one S hook, so I added a second one so I could unhook both or either the water bag and the bar to relieve the tension. I also crimped one end of each S hook to secure it permanently to the rope at each end.- Instructions aren’t the best so the first time setup leaves you scratching your head, but once setup you are golden.- The pulleys, when under weight pressure, pull towards each other. Didn’t bother me and still works, but an engineering friend said how he could design it better.- When I was all healed (YAY!!!), I packed it up for storage in a closet. I did let it dry thoroughly but I didn’t sanitize it. So 5 months later when a bad chiropractor visit pinched my nerve again (NOOOO!!), I had to use it again. After a week with water in it, it looks like a little brown growth is in the bag. I will probably just put some kind of sanitizer (vinegar) in it to disinfect. I’m sure this isn’t a product specific issue but an issue anytime you’re using contained water.Commentary:- You will need to be seated. Any chair works but I found it most comfortable with a ball chair where I can lean to get the best pull.- The instructions don’t say how much weight, how long per session or how many sessions per day. They can’t. You will need to be told what your situation requires from your physical therapist or practitioner.- Definitely strap in your head before adding the water bag. Mush easier to get in/out. Plus you can slowly raise/release the bag for gentle head lift.- If you have hollow core doors, place it on a solid surface of your door, preferably the edge whis has structure behind it.

Defective Device with Poor Workmanship
I ordered this item to replace a similar device that had given me years of service. The metal crossbar bent on its first use, so I used the crossbar from my previous device. However, the water bag sprung a leak after it's second use. I only ordered a new set because the previous water bag began to leak--no complaint there as it lasted for years--but the new one started leaking almost immediately. I'm at a loss, because I so valued its predecessor.

Effective, but there's a design flaw
I think this device is simple and effective. I use it, and I'm happy with it.However, there's a design flaw. The opening for the bladder is quite small. So if the bladder molds on the inside, there's really no way to get at it t clean it out.Hydration bladders like CamelBak have learned that lesson and now use only very wide openings.

Great Idea But Needs Different Halter
My mom used to use one of these a million years ago. It does take the pressure off your neck. However, the halter is designed in such a way that it puts a lot of pressure on your jaw. So, it's not comfortable to do for every long .

WARNING! Slippery when wet
When the chair was assembled and put in my bathtub, it looked a bit dangerous. As I used it, it was unwieldy and I couldn't sit through the whole shower as certain parts could not be cleaned properly unless I stood. It was when I tried to use it to clean my legs by putting a foot on it that I slipped and fell in the tub. Nothing is broken but these bruises - from foot to ribs - will take months to stop hurting. I also noticed that, after it got wet, even sitting without slipping was difficult.I give it 2 stars because it seems a useful idea, but it needs to be more anchored and NOT slippery when wet! That warning and ideas about how to use it without falling would be useful.
