It’s pretty ingenious. I will say that I had to watch some videos to figure it out. I’ll put what worked for me in the end. Power it on. Orient the hook so it’s facing the sky. You do this by holding the power button until it starts spinning. Attach it to the drone. Attach the string to the hook and the other end to the payload. I used a parachute man. Place the payload and string behind the drone for a smooth takeoff. Fly slowly to the drop point. Now spin the drone for 10 seconds to activate the magic. Yes, I lost the first parachute guy. The wind took him away. 😂

Complete piece of junk. Does not work. Waited 2 months to open it and attempt to use it and now of course it is outside of the return window.

Great drone. Bought air drop to go with drone. Gave it to son in law for gift snd he loves it.

It really works. It's great that it can be triggered from any distance that you have control over your drone. The hook could be a bit longer, to more securely hold the rope but it seemed to be okay in my use. Will test more.

First, reading the reviews is almost worthless as it seems the reviews are all grouped with multiple airdrop systems (and complaints are about totally different systems). For this one that I bought, the drop is activated ONLY by spinning the drone around in place for 10 seconds. There are NO light sensors that react to a light being turned on for the drone that activate the drop as some reviews state. I actually thought I bought a light activated drop system because the instructions and description are not the clearest out there (but they are there). This particular system is ingenious and won’t need recharging for eons (supposedly hundreds of rotations (one hook rotation is considered a drop)… This chargeable pack is extremely light and even though specifications say that batteries are not included, you don’t need any as there is a battery included in this system (that is rechargeable through a usb-c) that (the battery) is integral within the case.

Instructions for this item are incomprehensible. It talks about two different buttons and there is only one. Also something about calibrating the device by shaking it but it doesn't explain and what plane or how to shake it. Not does it say how often you need to do this. The hook thingie could/should be a bit longer. You may get this thing to work but you're on your own.

Fits perfectly on the mini 3 Pro. I tested it out a few times today and it worked flawlessly every time. The string that is provided is about how far away you want the item to be so it doesn't interfere with the sensors. Instead of string I cut a length of electric fence wire to eliminate some of the swaying and seems to work a little bit better. The price seems very reasonable especially for the capabilities it gives you.

It works great. It’s really nice that I didn’t have to worry about being within range for a separate remote. Only thing I would stress is to make sure the payload is not hanging very low underneath the drone. Especially if it’s a small drone. And fly very slowly and smoothly. Because it can easily throw the drone off balance and make you crash. I’ve lost 2 dji mini 2 drones this way. Otherwise it’s great!
