Strong and well made.
A strong and well made bag. It has many zipped pockets and several methods to tie externals. It's quite lightweight yet substantial. The strap is a bit stiff so I bought a maxpedition strap attachment to soften the feel on my shoulder. The strap can be fastened to either side at the base so it can be worn over either shoulder. It has a very convenient handle on top. There is a vented back which doubles as map pocket, to reduce sweating in use. I love this bag and though very expensive it should last years. I have already bought attachments to hold my camera and a water bottle. Worth the investment and highly recommended as an alternative to a conventional rucksack.

Maxpedition Remora Gearslinger Bag
An excellent small single strap sling bag, which can be worn on either the back or the chest. Ideal for carrying wallet, mobile phone, jotter pad, pen, and other small items. Not the cheapest bag but made to Maxpedition's usual very strong and durable finish and materials. I use mine almost every time I go out.

the business
your friendly bug out bag for all occasions. I need a bag for keys in my line of work - property management, then I need to carry odds and sods like multiple choice screwdrivers, cable ties, torches etc. etc. If you get a big bag you will keel over with theweight. So you need a small bag and this is it. The only thing to add is a hazard shoulder pad to save your neck otherwise it is good to go.

Love it!
I needed a bag for carting around day to day stuff. I used to have small rucksacks but they are a pain when you want to get something out quickly. I can't remember exactly how I discovered the Maxpedition Remora existed but I'm glad that I did. Its USP is that when you have it over your shoulder it is really easy to swing it around and get easy access to your stuff. Or on public transport you can have it on your knee without taking the strap off like you would have to do with a rucksack. I also like the fact that when you are shopping in crowded areas you can swing it around and protect your possessions easily. Note - if you carry it like this in a supermarket expect the security guard to pay you some attention! To be fair it does look like you might be about to steal something with it in that position. But at least your stuff is safe! There are quite a few video reviews on YT which mainly consist of Americans showing what they keep in theirs. I mainly have my iphone, notebook and pens, thin waterproof jacket, dog poo bags, handwipes, some cash, torch (at night) plasters and pain killers. It has several pockets - some with elasticated webbing. Whatever small stuff you want to carry there is a place for it. The bag has been designed in the US so there are several places where a small handgun would fit.It is easy to remove the single shoulder strap and then the bag can be carried in your hand. I take mine to work, in the car, shopping ,dog walking. I just vary the items in there to suit where I'm going.I love my Remora. It was expensive for a small bag but it is so versatile, tough and useful that it was definitely worth it.I bought mine from this seller but went direct through their site. I advise you to do the same.

Dissappointing stitching quality
I'm really , really disappointed with this bag .I've bought maxped. pouches which have been good, and was looking for a small bag to take geocaching which would not flop around or restrict my movement when walking, but would accommodate essential items and my camera. The Remora looked ideal , but unwilling to take a gamble with quite so much cash, I tried the concept out buying a far cheaper look alike bag 7dayshop OG Urban Slinger Multi-Pocket Left or Right Handed Shoulder Bag - Light Sand first and seeing how I got on with it.The experiment was good , the cheap bag was put to use for the best part of a year and proved very good until I had the spare cash to buy 'the real thing'.When the Remora arrived the difference in quality seemed evident : stiffer more substantial material and fittings , and a neater finish with no hanging thread ends. The internal pockets, panels and elastics are also far better in the Maxped. bag. Actually I found that the strap was so much stiffer that it cut into my neck uncomfortably (unlike the more flexible cheap bags one) so I bought a maxped. shoulder pad too. Parking the look alike in a cupboard I began using the Remora to take a small maxped. pouch with first aid kit , penknife torch etc , buff, pens, spare batteries, bridge camera and a cereal bar and various other odds and ends along with me. In hot weather a platypus bottle was neatly slipped in the back open compartment with 500ml of water too.I loved the bag. It stayed put in the small of my back while walking along, could be swung round to access the contents ( or keep them safe from theft in town) with ease , did not shift when I bent down/climbed a tree/jumped a ditch/ crawled under a hedge in pursuit of a geocache and kept my camera safe and dry. The compartments kept my kit sorted easy to get to and the bungee cord held a light weight waterproof when I took one along. So , why only 3 stars ?After 9 months of use , the stitching has broken along the main compartment zip . It simply gave way . The bag has never over filled or the seam stressed. If this had happened on the £10 version I'd have not been annoyed, but on an item this expensive from a manufacturer who makes great boast of their high quality this was a huge disappointment. I contacted the vendors who were prompt with a polite but understandable reply that they could not contemplate a return after so long . Maxpeditions 'Lifetime guarantee' only applies to items bought direct from them too, so I seem to have no redress. 'Hard use gear' is how they describe their products, but this item failed to cope with less than a year of quite gentle use. While I try to source some strong thread of a matching colour to effect a repair I have reverted to using the cheap bag which is still in perfect condition. I can't help but think I should have stuck with it and saved myself a considerable sum of money.IF (and that is a big 'if') I buy any more Maxped kit I shall be checking all of the stitching with great care on receipt.
