Emergency coffee grinder delivered in hours
Having discovered my bags of fresh coffee were beans and not ground, I immediately sent for this hand machine. I was delighted by the speed of delivery but having read some of the reviews, expected a box of broken glass. Everything was perfect and after a quick grind to clean the disks, I set about preparing my supper and breakfast cups. Now I'm used to electric grinders which will do a bag in few minutes but after seeking coffee expert advice, I was assured that bladed grinders destroy the structure and it is better to crush the beans in devices such as this. The resulting grind was exactly the correct uniform size with no large lumps or powder. However, the effort to produce just 4 spoonfuls of coffee is great and my arm is still numb. I will therefore greatly appreciate and savour my favourite drink even more knowing how much energy I used. I will soon start challenging arm wrestlers.UPDATE how to avoid hard work!!The photos show:Remove the nut and handle,Replace with suitable nut,Insert suitable socket in electric drill,Drive slowly but with out effort.Hope this helps and you can always revert to manual with a bit of effort releasing overtightened nut.

Coffee time...
Switching from an old electric grinder I thought I'd take a punt on this.I'm very pleased. Arrived nice and quick from Amazon as usual, well packed and as expected.Grinder comes with two pots one for use on the grinder, this has a nice rubber ring round it for holding onto, and one for storing the coffee in.To set the desired grind you adjust the top cog, you've got preset steps it's not gradual. I moved it to the finest then backed up one, the results are pictured above.Cleaning is easy it's provided with a brush and the dry bits of coffee just fall out.If you like coffee and want a good quality grinder, get it, it's great

Consistant results
As I already own a manual grinder I am aware of problems they have. Although initially a little fiddly to set up, once the correct setting for the grind you desire is achieved, the results are remarkably consistent. The body of the grinder is tall enough to get a good grip on it, and the anti-slip bottom works well. The crank is sufficiently long that you don't have to put lots of effort into the grinding. The spare jar is a handy extra. My old electric grinder might be quicker but this machine will give you a much better cup of coffee.

Good but needs a more robust pin on grinding arm
This grinder works very well and is a good size to hold, making it easy to use. However, the pin that secures the black grip on the end of the Grinding arm quickly came loose making the grinder unusable. Fortunately. I found a small nut and bolt which fitted, and it now works well again.

I wanted it to grind flax seeds and it couldn't.
I tried grinding flax seeds and it just didn't work. I tried altering the grinder but no matter what I tried it just didn't work. I was so disappointed because I liked the little storage pot that came with it and I was keen to do this manually instead of using electricity. It wasn't even as good as my manual pepper grinder. I tried pepper in it and that didn't work either. I gave up - packed it back into its box and regretfully returned it.

Not a bad little coffee grinder with an extra jar to store any unused coffee grinds or beans.
There is nothing to dislike about this coffee grinder, it is what it is . It takes a little time to grind the beans and your arm may ache a little till you get used to it but nothing to complain about.
