Loved this! It was an exciting read that had me hooked the entire time!
I absolutely loved Crimson River! I adored Lyla and Vance’s story and couldn't read it fast enough as their chemistry ignited, details emerged, and the story developed. It was sweet, emotional, and passionate with the perfect amount of light intrigue woven in. I was so hooked!I loved Lyla and Vance. From their first meeting, they had an instant connection and I was pulled in. I loved the light flirting and the building sexual attraction. The looks Vance gave Lyla made me melt! I loved learning about them, what brought them together, and the full depth of what Vance was doing in Quincy. I felt for Lyla and the pain she'd endured. I loved her strength and how she helped Vance and was there for him.I loved the small-town, homey feel like I was right there with Vance and Lyla. I appreciated that not all the secrets were given away at once, it really built, pulling me in, with all these great details. I loved the hints about Vance and the twists along the way. I loved the emotion and intensity as everything developed. It was captivating and exciting to read.As always, I loved the Eden family and how the siblings were there for one another and all their special bonds. I also loved, adored, and can't wait for what's been set up for Mateo and his heroine in the next book, Sable Peak. This was such a wonderful story. I was filled with anticipation and was excited the entire time, I had such a sense of urgency while reading. It flowed well and I loved the dual POVs. This was an excellent addition to the series and I loved every second!

3.5 Stars
This was more of a romantic suspense book, similar to Indigo Ridge, and I’m a fan of those so I enjoyed this one. I liked the mystery sub-plot and the twists the book took in the end kept it interesting. I’m almost at the end of the series and I’m not itching to finish it. I think I’ll put this one down for a bit and come back for Mateo’s book a little later.

Great Read
The mystery & intrigue in this story has so far exceeded the prior books. I really liked the murder mystery/hunting for a fugitive story line. I can honestly say - as a smut lover - I sometimes wished for less smut and more hiking. I wanted to catch a killer!!!!Ok so Lyla is already such a strong Eden sibling. She owns the coffee shop, she's always there for her family, and she's pretty intune with everyone's needs. What happened to her was awful. I was so mad because Lyla isn't the same. Even after resolution, Lyla is a new Lyla. Vance was so intriguing. I love a mysterious stranger and that's what he gave us. We learned of his past a little at a time and it unearthed his relationship with our fugitive, I fell in love with him so easily.

A Fast Paced Romantic Suspense
Lyla and Vance are tied together from separate incidents revolving around one man. Their ties become a bond that I could not get enough of and I loved their HEA. Strength is shown in different ways and this book is utterly unputdownable.

The romantic suspense in this one had me hooked!
Crimson River is the 5th book in the Edens series by Devney Perry! When a new book from one of my fav authors drops, I immediately jump in. The Eden series I’ve really enjoyed and was so intrigued with this one after getting a sneak peek in the previous book in the series. This one is definitely more romantic suspense, similar to Indigo Ridge, the first book in the series!Lyla Eden owns the local coffee shop and is quite a workaholic. So one day her sister Eloise tells her she needs a break and to go take a hike (literally) or something. She goes off on a hike and when she stops at a stream to fill up her water bottle, she spots a hunter washing his bloody hands in the stream. Then he charges her, chokes her, and flees.Vance has spent 4 years chasing the same man, when he hears that the man has been spotted in Quincy, Montana after attacking Lyla, Vance shows up to track him down. He finds Lyla and notices the markings on her throat and immediately knows the man he is chasing down is the same one who attacked her. Lyla is quickly attracted to Vance and they start a sort of secret-ish, friends with benefits, hookup while he’s in town. I was super pulled into the suspense element of the story, more so than the romance! 😅 although the romance was good too and steamy.

charming
Lyla and Vance. This story was cute. I would say it’s an instant love. Vance was searching for answers and Lyla was trying to find her way after she was attacked while hiking in the woods. Their worlds collided and from there they became inseparable. Vance finally got the closure he needed and Lyla found herself again. Great read. I gave this book 3.5 ⭐️ and 2.0 🌶️.

omg thank god lyla got the man she deserves
i abandoned eloise's book, hated her and jasper, strongly disliked foster, but i've been loving lyla ever since her first cameo, her and mateo (i'll get into how much i screamed when i found out his book would also be vera's in a second) were not my favourites only because griffin and knox are perfection; i think part of why i disliked book 3 and 4 so much was because the bar was set too high on books 1 and 2, since lyla's man was an outsider i expected him to be "flawed" and to have a hard past like foster and jasper, he did, a harder past, more reasons to be unapproachable and grumpy and rude, and he wasn't, never with lyla, he has the "perfection" the men in book 1 and 2 made me expect from the series, not dumping trauma onto women, having it, but not as an excuse to hurt them and then come back parading the "i am sorry i didn't see it sooner", they left and they were hurt, but it wasn't an excuse, it didn't feel like that was to be expected, i personally never connected or cared for thalia and eloise and i still don't, but i loves winslow, memphis and lyla so much that i needed for them to have these man they could trust and rely on (not on a creepy way like a shadow, wt* was that with jasper and eloise never being separated that man needs a job, and therapy and death but i'll keep that to my dreams)i SCREAMED when i saw who the next couple was going to be, i loved vera since the start, felt hurt when lyla commented who got to hear her story would have the pieces of her heart cause i wasn't going to read it BUT I WILL I SO SO WILL; i read the tropes, read about matt having history in alaska, know vera will probably suffer a little bit but god i hope mateo is like his brothers and vance and not jasper and foster, she DESERVES a good man more than anyone else in this family, she simply does and i know mateo is good because he's never been anything but sunshine on the other books and vera already suffered too much omg i am so excited, and i want more lyla and vance, and griffin and winslow and memphis and knoxi know eloise is the youngest along with mateo but god i hope there isn't much of her in his book, i never rolled my eyes as much as i did on the first chapter of crimson river when i saw the book started with her and jasper, almost thought it was going to suck, thankfully she kept her annoying self to herself and didn't show up much after ( i t w a s p e a c e f u l )ps: hopefully i am the kind of person that deserves a vance, not jasper/foster

Layla and Vance are PERFECTION!
What an amazing continuation of the Edens series!I love a good mystery and Crimson River definitely delivers! Both Layla and Vance are so wrapped up in solving the mystery - though they each have their own reasons.I really enjoyed getting to know Layla - we don’t see her very often in the other books in the series. Vance is such an interesting character with a very rich backstory. Him and Layla are so perfect together! The way their relationship develops throughout the book is so natural, and they just get each other in ways that no one else has. I loved seeing them get their happy ending! If you love small town romances, definitely check out the Edens series! Each book is different, but absolutely amazing!
