Common Bees of Western North America (Princeton Field Guides, 124)

What an excellent guide! I’m researching the common names, since they’re not mentioned in the book. I’m writing them in, next to the binomials, which is training me some.

Book size is great for in the field. Would love to have one twice as large for my desk. Key needs to have larger images and a genera page number listed so you dont have to flip to the index to get the page number. A combined Eastern and Western book for entire north America would be great as a desk reference. I ended up purchasing the print and digital versions as the images can be blown up for more detailed view in the digital version. Perhaps adding an image CD to the book would be smart. Overall a buy.

I’ve been excited for this release and I am not disappointed! I love the layout, the anatomy guide, the reference chart for quick lookup by color and other prominent features. I was able to figure out our giant bee neighbors in under 2 minutes, and learn about their cool complex social behavior. The maps are great, although I have noticed that they are occasionally at odds with the written range descriptions. Thank you for this great guide.
