Paris When It Sizzles [1964] [DVD]

This is a very glossy, Hollywood production of a certain style and time, and unless you understand that you won't understand much of the plot. That, such as it is, is a pastiche of all the grand film themes of the era. It enthusiastically mocks the world of writers and film producers, seducers and hard-up actors who only get to be second-policeman (or third!). Though there is visual comedy, it is more witty than laugh-out-loud (at least for me!)A surreal whirlwind of a film but with lots of shots of Paris and close-ups of the beautiful Audrey Hepburn. The subtitles worked well.

Dont waste money or time on this film (you will never get that time back). I cannot understand why anyone made it or allowed it to be made. Its as though a studio had two famous actors hanging around with nothing to do and thought they should make a film using them to make some money, and had no script writer so got someone's eight year old kid to write it.Many pictures with Audrey Hepburn are farcical, but this is just terrible. There is nothing to rescue it, not even a couple of good looking shots of AH..If you wasted your money buying this, then the best we can hope for is you fall asleep and miss most of it, at least that way you will have had some valuable sleep.Straight to a charity shop with it, then at least your lost money goes somewhere worthwhile.

I really loved this movie! William Holden og Audrey Hepburn have an amazing chemestry on camera.The plot is very Funny and unikt; at times it is really absurd! But this is what makes the film so great: it is like nothing you have ever seen before."Paris when it sizzles" are nothing like " Breakfast at Tiffanys" or "My fair Lady", so if you are looking for this type of Audrey Hepburn film - I can not reccomend this.If you like "How to steel a million" or "Charade" I think you will like "Paris when it sizzles"...I like all of Hepburns films, and her snd Holdens comical timing is just wonderful!

These are 2 of my favourite stars. For years they have both delighted the screen with their talent and good looks.However I can honestly say that this is the worst film I have ever seen either of them in. It was a ridiculous story line with no story and had nothing whatsoever which could hold the attention span.The story was so crazy that it left the actors with no choice but to over-act. I tried but couldn't stay awake to see the very end so this DVD's demise is to send it to the charity shop and see if anyone else can make sense of it.

This is a quirky film with the wonderful Tony Curtis, Audrey Hepburn and William Holden. If you are a fashion/Interior design student watch this.

Had never seen this film before.A big Audrey Hepburn fan.This film takes a while to get going.Funny quirky plot.Enjoyed it.

Not one of audrey Hepburn's finest. Supposed to be a romantic comedy...load of drivel
