I carried this me everywhere as I feel safer.I wish I didn't have to but it is better to be safe than sorry.I'm pleased that it is lighter than my older version and I have tried it out at home. The sound is pretty good and so is the flashing light at night.I hope never to use this but I live in London and I'm worried about my personal security when out and about.The price of the item is very reasonable. And I felt that you can not put a price on peace of mind.Hope that helps.

I've been looking for a replacement personal alarm after my last one ran out of battery.I've not had to use the alarm but it's good to know I have something that would attract help from passers-by in case I did get into any difficulties when out on my own. This is great, and very easy to use. You simply attach it to something secure that you can reach and simply pull the alarm. As you pull the alarm it comes away from the pull ring and the alarm goes off, while the light starts to flash.The best part is that the alarm is reusable. So, all you need to do is push the two parts together again and the alarm and light will reset.The alarm is powered by two-button batteries. I think it would have been great if it was rechargeable, but according to the description the batteries that come installed have a good life span (up to 2 years) before they need replacing. Obviously, the more you use it the faster the batteries will run out.These are super lightweight and feel well-made. They are available in several colours.Overall looks good, let's hope I never have to use it!!

I think that anyone in a vulnerable position would feel safer carrying this when alone, on the street, walking a dog or just alone in a workplace. It is also something that would be useful with any health issues so they can easily call for help in an emergency. It is small and discrete and can be attached to clothing via the included un-screwable pin or the included keyring.It includes a very loud siren and a bright strobing LED light. To activate this, the user simply pulls out the loop at the top which is where the alarm is attached to the un-screwable pin or the keyring. The siren begins immediately, as does the bright flashing light. Once it starts it will bring attention very quickly. I have included a video so that you can see and hear it.When the device needs to be stopped, you just replace the loop pin into its original setting.I have not included images of the battery changing because I cannot do this having attached a video. It is not simple and requires someone with nimble fingers. Firstly, you need to locate the groove at the top of the left-hand side seam. Using a small screwdriver or something similar, push it into the groove and twist until the front and back start to separate. You can then gently prize the front and back apart completely. You will now need a suitable screwdriver to remove the tiny screws on two corners of the circuit board you will see inside (take care to put them somewhere safe). When you have done this, you will see that there are two stacked CR2032 batteries in a small compartment. Remove them carefully, noting the orientation if necessary. Replace with the same battery type, reattach the screws in the original positions and then push the back cover on again starting at the bottom. It will snap back in.

Its easy to set off but not so easy that you accidentally pull out the top clip in error.It can be attached to a key ring or a handbag strap or if you want you would wear it on a necklace if you are commuting alone. Obviously you should always be aware of your surroundings and not just rely on instant help in a tricky situation but at least with the very loud sound this produces as well as the flashing light there is more of a chance someone will realise you are in difficulties.Got this one for my daughter and I sincerely hope she never has an occasion to need it.

It seems that violence on the streets is getting to be more of a problem in just about all locations, and of course lone people are more vulnerable. This alarm is intended to give people a bit more of a sense of security by making a loud noise and flashing a very bright light to draw attention from anyone passing by in the event that the person carrying it is made to feel threatened.Using it is simple, it should be attached to a bag or belt loop by the loop on the end of the pin, if it is needed it just needs a firm yank to pull the body from the pin and set off the siren and light. Usefully it can be re-used as pushing the pin back in resets it ready to be used again.It is powered by button cells which can apparently be replaced, but there are no instructions for doing that, which is why I have deducted one star.
