Comparing this against the Rugged Ridge snorkel (currently priced at $700), it is well worth the money. More or less identical at a fraction of the price. Install was pretty easy if you watch a couple different install videos. Nothing too complicated if you're even somewhat mechanically inclined.Only thing I'd say to watch out for is the drilling of the intake box. There is no precise location; however, from the inside of the box there are a couple of what I'll call ridges near the location for drilling. Verify where you drill to avoid those ridges, otherwise the drain nut may not sit flush. Nothing crazy, just something to consider.Thanks for all the brave first buyers and reviewers!

Been on the market for a snorkel for a few months and decided to pull the trigger on this after seeing the price discount over the rough country high mount. Install was as expected (the hardest part was separating the factory air box and the attachment for the water guard). Have driven through two monsoon downpours with no water in the air box. Construction is holding up (will probably have to dress the plastic high mounts after they fade in the sun) and looks awesome. Save $500 and get this one.

This thing definitely exceeded my expectations, I don’t have a RR snorkel to compare side by side but just focusing on this one. It was packaged great, has good instructions, and pretty solid material, even a brace where you band. I did put RTV/Silicone in the airbox connection like another reviewer said as you could see some daylight (picture is without RTV) but that fixed it right up. It is totally worth saving over $600.And a huge thank you to those that took the risk before me and posted reviews, I wouldn’t have risked it without you, you rock!

so for the price point of only $140 vs the $600 of the name brand one this is a great deal. totally complete kit. fitment is acceptable but not gonna win a award. ONLY complaint is the seal when the hi snorkel is on isn’t 100% foolproof. if your expecting to get water than high and breach the seal then you may have more problems than the small leak from the seal. but if you put some silicone on it then assemble it will be easily cured. hopefully these pics help someone decide because there was no photos when i ordered it so it seemed like a gamble but it payed off.

Compared to the price of the rugged ridge (RR) one, this is an amazing deal! They even have the improvements from the first RR model, bracing the intake tubes where the clamps go for structural integrity. The only modification I made was to the drain tube, buying some more from the local home improvement store to run it behind my bumper. The one in the kit is good, I just wanted to access it easier.I haven't noticed a change in mpg, but on the highway, my jeep now rides in 8th gear more often (suggesting more torque). I have a roof rack with lights, so that is an improvement over the drag I experience.
