I picked up Melania: Devourer of Men expecting maybe a light nibble. A sweet little snacky snack. What I got instead was a full-blown church-basement potluck of melodrama, camp, and unrepentant audacity, and I went back for seconds like I hadn’t eaten in days. This book does not ease us into the hot steamy, cliché 70s Harlequin romance room. The prose is thick (allegedly like Comey's...👀) and it is committed to the bit. Not one single paragraph pauses to ask if this is “too much.” Honey, it knows it is. That’s the point. Melania herself isn’t so much a character as she is a weather event. Men don’t fall for her so much as they wander straight into her path like deer staring down headlights, hearts in their throats and common sense left back at the house... but clearly not the White House, am I right? 🤭 Is it subtle? Bless its heart, no. Is it elegant? Sometimes in the way a deranged, half-stupid possum crossing the road at dusk might be elegant...You don’t know why you’re captivated, but there you are, slowing down to watch a horrible backwoods car wreck. It’s dramatic, it’s indulgent (though in what I can't be sure), it’s got more layers than a Sunday taco pie casserole, and it refuses to apologize for any of it (...except we really should apologize to Comey for whatever madness this is. Hasn’t the poor guy been through enough?) Reading this felt like listening to a story that starts with “Now don’t tell your mother I told you this…” and ends three hours later with everybody a little scandalized, traumatized, and a little involuntarily closer for having heard it. I don’t know that I understand this book. But I do know I enjoyed the hell out of it; and the fact there's another book to devour about other salacious members of the government...? Buckle in, and get in the zone... Review: Couldn’t put down the sexy book - It’s the best book. People are saying it. Page after page of just incredible stuff happening. So much happening. You can’t even keep up. Nobody can keep up. It’s fast, it’s slow, it’s everything. Very emotional. Very strong. Powerful emotions. The strongest emotions. Let me tell you… very sexy. Very, very sexy book. Maybe the sexiest book. People don’t write books like this anymore. They don’t have the courage. This book has courage. It’s bold. It’s confident. It knows what it’s doing. You read it and you say, “Wow, this book really understands things.” Deep things. Very deep. The characters? Tremendous characters. Some of the best characters I’ve ever seen. You love them, you hate them, you’re confused by them. That’s how you know it’s good writing. Confusion is very underrated in literature. I always say that. Great confusion. Top-tier confusion. And the story? Don’t even get me started. The story is… it goes places. Incredible places. You’re reading and you think, “Is this allowed? Can they do this?” And the answer is yes. They did it. They absolutely did it. Nobody else would have done it. Only this book. By the end, you feel different. Changed. A little shaken, maybe. A little thrilled. A little impressed. A little concerned. That’s how you know it’s a masterpiece. When you’re slightly concerned. I give it the highest rating possible. Higher than possible. A rating nobody’s ever given before. The best. Absolute best. Would read again. Would talk about it in vague, confusing ways for years. Tremendous book. Truly.

I honestly don't know what I read, but it was a hoot.
Let me tell y’all something. I picked up Melania: Devourer of Men expecting maybe a light nibble. A sweet little snacky snack. Couldn’t put down the sexy book

Perfect quick read for a cold day
That was a lot more entertaining and insightful than I expected. Some parts made me feel sympathy while others made me laugh. I'm not sure if that was intentional or not. Either way, I read the whole thing rather quickly, you might say I devoured it. I only found the book because of all the movie talk. I prefer to read a book before seeing the movie and in this case, I'll stick with the book. No way can the movie top this.

Doing my civic duty and laughing all the way
Listen… you get exactly what you expect with this book, and honestly, that’s part of the charm. I picked up my free copy on the day the Melania documentary dropped, purely to do my part in the resist from home movement. Civic duty comes in many forms. Do I particularly enjoy reading spicy content about Melania? No. Definitely not. But I was willing to take one for the team this time. Overall, this novella is genuinely hilarious, and I walked away with a surprising bonus: a newfound appreciation for Philippine monster lore. That alone made it worth the read. There are a few errant typos that made my eye twitch… most notably the mix-up between typhoon (a hurricane in the western Pacific) and tsunami (a giant destructive wave). But that’s only because, in an alternate universe, I am a highly sought-after proofreader and copy editor, so this is a me problem. Thanks for the laughs, J.D. Boehninger… and hit me up if you want an extra set of proofing eyes on your next book. I love a good ARC 😎

ridiculously fun
Bought when I saw it trending on Threads, and it was such a fun read. You will enjoy more if you are the type to get satire and not easily offended (example, does an international pop star singing in a foreign language during a football game cause you irrational anger?). There is spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️ and a bit of mild gore.

I’ve done less fun things for self loathing
I had absolutely no intention of reading this. However, my husband had fallen asleep and I opened my Kindle to read a more legitimate form of literature. However, this bad boy hopped up, reminding me I had ordered it so I read the first page and I figured it would give me something to write about in this review unfortunately it was so bad that it was good and I hate read it far longer then I’d care to admit. I love this book and it’s absolute trash and I am probably gonna pay for the one about JD Vance and the couch. I’ve done less fun things with self loathing, this probably my favorite one.

This book doesn’t just eat men, it chews thoughtfully, and checks its lipstick afterward. If the documentary was an extended perfume ad where nothing happens but furniture gets filmed lovingly, Melania the Devourer of Men is a blood-soaked fairy tale told with a champagne flute in hand. It has opinions. It has claws. Here, Melania lets a man finish talking before ruining him psychologically. The writing is merciless. The documentary feels like watching a marble statue think about having a personality. The book, meanwhile, is sharpening knives in the background and smiling politely. In conclusion: skip the documentary unless you need a nap. Read the book. Five stars

This is the biography we deserve. Insightful, touching, inspiring.. so many bigly words. The story of one woman's fight for everything she cares deeply about and the sacrifices she is never asked to make. This is the epic outcome of when one man with bone spurs grabs the parts of a gold digger that he cares about and what an outcome. Forget the lack lustre film of the book, this is the real deal and what an artful deal it is.

I got this for 'the bit' and because it was free, but in all honesty this was a highly enjoyable read. The writing is really evocative and vivid. I've been told that books in this highly specific genre of erotica tend to be really well-written, but I never really believed it. I was wrong! I might just check to see if this author has other works.
