I bought this for my daughter for Christmas and we had some fun making it but she lost interest a lot because it is quite tricky, the instructions don't explain how it goes together it just shows numbers and worked out its just matching numbers to each other, it is a snap together but glue is needed else it will just pop apart in places, it also took us a couple of days to complete as it gets a little tiresome building and waiting for glue to dry but once done she loved it and for the price cant go wrong

Some pieces are a bit tougher to assemble than others. The online instructions really help also the added sandpaper came in handy for slight alterations. Would definitely recommend 4*

Delivered fine and with all the pieces. Something to do with your child as needs strong fingers and the instructions are not the best. The reason I didn't give this 5 stars is due to the lack of instructions on how to do the rigging, you have to work it out from the picture and was pretty tricky.However when it was finished, which took about 4-5 hours, it looked great and was taken into school to show off with pride.

I am 58 with terminal brain cancer so doing thinks like this helps coordinate brain and fingers. Cannot walk far so the kits help when wife at work.Like other people has said lack of instructions is the only downside. Specially when you have small screen phone, won’t work on my old iPad.

I downloaded instructions as this was difficult to build an adult needed to do this, but son loved it and his class played with it all term, it was little worse for wear...

i bought this woodcraft kit for Christmas for my son from Quay as I have ordered items from them and was happy with the service and quality. To our disappointment , half the parts were missing. we returned it and luckily we got a refund.

I was well pleased with this, when finished it looks great.

I enjoyed working on this with a pirate enthusiast special needs child. The online instructions are easy to use. I would recommend wood glue and enough space and time for a good bout of ikea like frustration.There are no instructions for how to put the rigging on and fortunately my shipmate was not that fussy but if he were there would have been problems, for I completed it shambolically.

Kind im Piratenfan-Alter wünscht sich genau dieses Schiff. Na dann. Für den Aufbau benötigt man nur das Schiff,dachte ich. Tatsächlich war es ein Geduldsspiel. Die Teile passen zT nicht 100 prozentig, brechen super leicht ab, die Anleitung ist in Papierform grottig und zT falsch, die im Internet ebenso (nur an anderen Stellen als die Papieranleitung), und zur Frage, wie man die Schnüre befestigen soll, gibt es einfach mal gar keine Hinweise. Aber wer beim Aufbau soweit kommt, schafft das vermutlich auch ohne Anleitung. Man braucht neben dem Schiff also am besten Schleifpapier, ein gutes räumliches Vorstellungsvermögen, Holzleim, kleine Klammern, Draht und Klebeband und eine wenig Fantasie, um gebrochene Stellen zu richten, und sehr sehr gute Nerven. Dann kann das klappen, und das Ergebnis kann sich dann auch sehen lassen. Aber der Weg dahin ist ein harter Kampf und stellenweise super frustrierend. Kinder (im Piratenfan-Alter/Grundschule) können beim Aufbau so gut wie gar nicht mitmachen.Tips: kleine Stoffklammern wie man sie beim Nähen nutzt lassen sich auch wunderbar zum Kleben/Fixieren verwenden. Die unteren "Kanonen" und auch diese "Kanonenklappen" die man von innen nach außen durch die schwarze Bordwand schiebt, gut verleimen. Das Deck ist nachher an dieser Stelle geschlossen und alles, was sich da später beim Spielen löst, ist auf Nimmerwiedersehen im Schiffsbauch verschwunden.Das Einzige, was über diesen Aufbaufrust hinwegtröstet, sind die strahlenden Kinderaugen, wenn das Ding dann fertig ist. Natürlich ist es dann auch nicht besonders stabil und der erste Mast ist auch schon wieder abgebrochen. Aber wenn man den Aufbau überstanden hat, ist diese Reparatur ja fast ein Kinderspiel...
