Beautiful looking basket and excellent delivery, but the fastenings are such soft metal and so weak that my kitten could head butt her way out of this at 12 weeks old and you can manipulate the metal with your fingers. Don't buy this one, buy one with stronger fastenings. I haven't contacted the supplier because another reviewer said they did and the supplier wasn't interested. The photos I've added show the insecure fastenings that I've had to remove over and over again and refashion and refix as the come out so easily. The cushion is one I added, but the one that came with it is nice. The cage front comes off easily, it has two hooks, a curved one for the double o-rings and literally just a turned turned down piece of metal to secure the other side. I added the piece of lace in an effort to make it more secure, but she even squeezes out of that. This is heavily let down by the fastenings.

Item advertised as cat carrier. Bought for Christmas for my children, for our new cat which we homed in January. The first time we ever used the carrier, the handle fell off as we discovered it was only held with paper-style SPLIT PINS!! The item is totally unfit for purpose. The door also does not have a way of staying shut, so as we lifted our new cat out of the car the handle completely separated from the basket, the door flew open and our cat ran off down the street. This could have been devastating for our kids. I contacted the seller who was not prepared to refund this shoddy and completely unusable item as more than 30 days had passed since order, but of course as a CHRISTMAS present it is more than understandable why the issue was not noticed immediately. Item was bought in good faith, but the basket is completely unusable and should be advertised as decorative only. It is terrible!!I would never recommend this product, or the company selling it. This little kitty bed arrived in the post a few days ago. It is handsome and stylish and fits perfectly in the corner of my office. I very much liked the fact you can completely remove the cage-style door and store it somewhere else. I've not used it for transporting my cat yet, but I did test out the sturdiness of the bars and found it to be a little fragile. Probably not the best for trips to the vet.That aside, I have to give it 5 stars on behalf of my cat. She absolutely LOVES it!I was nervous at first that she wouldn't take to it, but within a few hours she was curled up inside snoozin' away. There is really nothing cuter than seeing her little paws knead the mattress and watching her sprawl out inside like its the most comfortable thing in the world. Since a few of the other reviews on here have discussed issues with getting their cats to use this bed, I've developed a few tips which I researched online and helped me.1. Note where your cat normally sleeps. Is she on top or underneath the bed? Is she on a window sill? Is she on the sofa? Is she like my cat and climbs into any unattended handbag or backpack? If your cat likes to sleep in wide open spaces, they probably won't ever adapt to this bed as it is enclosed. Save yourself time, money and headache and find a different style of bed.2. Put an unwashed shirt of yours under the paw print mattress to make the bed smell familiar (like you) and not like the factory that it came out of.3. Never force kitty inside. You don't want them to associate the bed with stressful situations and it might take a few days or even a week for the cat to go in, depending on their personality.4. All else fails, use catnip.My cat and I love this bed. Now if only I could get her to stop snoring so loud...

Wouldn't use it as a travel basket, I took the door off and the cats use it as a basket. The door for me would need a top and bottom catch as well as the hinge and catch on the sides.Update 2022: cat was sleeping in it and had to take him to the vets, put the door on it and away we went, at the vets I noticed little brass discs in the bed and thought nothing of it, when we got home there was a few more in the basket. These are the only thing that hold the handle on to the basket and is really unsafe as a carry basket, it was hanging off, thank goodness I didn't drop the basket at the vets as he could have escaped.

I borrowed one to take my kitten to the vet and she was so relaxed in it, So I have bought this one and use it for her to sleep in (without the door) and she felt safe in it immediately. The handle on the top makes it easy to carry to a different location (but broke in a subsequent trip to the vet and the poor cat was dropped!) The door will be useful for future vet visits. Well my carriers arrived today x all six of them x I was well excited x beautiful carriers and mine came with a fleece blanket as well x my cats love them x they look nice in the home x great price x but pls be careful transporting to vets x I'm going round to tighten all fixtures as a handle came off as I lifted it out the box x I will take extra precautions transporting and will lift by the bottom of carrier just in case x but in all honesty even with this. They are gorgeous tku x my cats are all cozy and warm x when it gets really cold x they will have their microwave bottle in with them x

Used once as a cat carrier and the metal door came off at the vets! Metal came away from metal so cannot fix. Can only be used as a cat bed now but this is not what it was meant or advertised for

First trip to the vet and it broke... In the middle of the road with impatient drivers. Nearly lost my cat. It is best used as just a bed at home. Not as a carrier. Wasted my money. I am here shopping for the good old traditional plastic ones we love and trust :'((
