Happy Grandsons.
A bit hard, think parental help is needed, many fiddly bits. Once bricks put together, they are a tight fit.

Good fun!
The kids are massive Pokémon fans so when they saw this they were obsessed. They had great fun building the Pokémon. Instructions were easy to follow and kept the kids occupied. A little expensive but would make a great gift for a Pokémon fan!

Loved by little man
The media could not be loaded. This was very much a hit with little man, but mummy did end up building it as it was a bit complicated and fiddly for an excitable 6 year old. For an adult and probably slightly older child it is easy to build. Good quality parts and mechanisms. Price is on a par with lego, quality also seems to be on a par. I would recommend this to pokemon lovers.

Easy build, fun to play with
I originally thought my 9 year old son would enjoy this, but he is a bit too tired to be bothered. However, it has been adopted by my 6 year old daughter who is currently playing with it in the hall. The bottom of the Pokemon has a rubber wheel on it, and as you move the monster along the floor this actuates the flippers making the animal look like it is swimming. Additionally there is a small mechanism which attaches to the back of the body and makes the head move. Both of the mechanisms are easy to move.I build some of the larger sets of blocks by other brands, I usually do about 1000 pieces a night. This set took me about an hour and a half. The instructions are clear, Mega has a slightly different layout to other brands in that they mark where the pieces go by colouring in the dots that connect. The instructions were split down in to 5 stages, each stage having two bags. A small tip here is to not mix those two bags together, but keep them apart as the pieces are slightly different types between them. This set has some nice pieces which are unique to me. The shell of the body has been covered well. I found the build easy enough, I think my 6 year old daughter would have been able to build it on her own (perseverance could be a problem, as this is a single model with 500+ pieces), but the actual placing of the pieces was clear and uncomplicated.

Another amazing Pokemon build
MEGA are knocking it out of the park with the IPs they have managed to secure. The Pokemon sets are fantastic, especially these larger sets focused on a single Pokemon. This Lapras is no exception. We found the instructions to be very clear and easy to follow. The resultant build is a good size and looks good on a shelf. There's a red wheel/cog on Lapras' back which can be turned to rotate his head. There are also wheels underneath which move the fins in a swimming motion. Besides these two elements there's not much here and the figure almost feels made more for display than play.At £54.99 (at time of review) it does feel clearly for older Pokemon fans who would like this on their shelf rather than a toy to play with for younger fans. I think the set is a little expensive for what it is, the piece count and considering it is not from the market leader (Lego) in construction bricks. But if you're a Pokemon fan, this is a no brainer as it's well detailed, fun to build and looks great.

Perfect Pokémon
Mega have really found their stride with their Pokémon collection. All sets we have got from this collection have been really well designed and nicely detailed with this lapras set being nice exception. The build instructions are really clear and easy to follow and is reasonably complex and fun to complete. It has done interactive elements which are great and were a nice surprise. It has wheels on the bottom to simulate swimming and a wheel on the back to rotate the head.Overall really impressed and will be buying more in the range.
