Great project for our 12 year okd
Our 12 year old worked diligently putting this together over 2 days. Required help just a couple of times but otherwise did a great job and felt so accomplished and proud when he finished and it worked as advertised! Meticulous but worth it! I can’t imagine an 8 year old doing this unless supervised for pretty much the whole process. I believe my son said there were 40 pages of instruction.

Grandkid enjoyed this very much
My grandson loves building projects. The Train Bots project offered something new, with the steam--and also the whimsical look to the trains. He was so excited to show me his progress, and then all the features of the finished project. He is 11, and needed no assistance.

Cool concept but difficult to get together
This really was a neat little concept but there are so many pieces that have to go together in this that it makes it rather difficult. We ended up having to do it over a couple of days and somewhere in that couple of days we lost a couple of pieces. So we never actually finished getting it together unfortunately cuz we are still missing pieces we can't find. Was just a little out of the depth of what we can do. If you have enough time to sit down in a day at a table and put this together then this would be a great fun project for you to do with your kids. My kid does not have the attention span to sit down for as long as I needed to in order to get this together. So we ever got to test it to its full capability. Which is unfortunate cuz it was actually a pretty neat idea.
