These are well made dumbbells in a plastic carry case that's a bit larger than a shoe box. They are Utilitarian -- simple design executed well enough. I like that the case makes easy to keep the gear together. If I were to carry it around outside the house I would suggest a band to keep it secure. The plates and hardware have a substantial feel. I use cycling half gloves but I can see how the crosshatch on the bar could be tough on bare hands. Really like them for my intended use and if/when I need more weight just buy additional standard plates. Great value

Even without the handle the price is right, no hidden "shipping pricing" that often comes with weights. I bought some really cheap wal mart set for the plates and barbell, this set doesn't have the problem with poor threading (It was also good value tho). It doesn't come with a weird smell and at the end of the day weight is weight. TL:DR It competently put together. Way cheaper then fixed plate and doesn't cost you 1200 dollar for SAFE adjustable dumbbells that won't break your feet. You can load all the weight on one dumbell as you progressively overload, you can buy 10 pounds plates more then increase it further. It will always be more conveniently "there" unlike spending 30 minutes to commute to a gym. It will always be useful for a few isolation work for lunges and light squat. It good combine with calisthenic and if you learn how to do rows help you towards your first chin up. It portable, its weight that can be rucked or loaded for pushup and pull ups. Finally, it can be given as a gift. Personally, I think you should get an Olympic Barbell save time with big compound movements but that cost big money and for 50 bucks this will send you on your journey to get fit.

The product came in a box that was all beat up and half-open, but the case was in good condition, thanks to styrofoam padding all around it. The case is solid, but I wouldn't trust the latches considering how much weight it must carry. If you're going to use the case, I'd suggest getting a belt to wrap around it to keep it from opening. The overall quality seems very good, and an excellent value if you are interested in weights in this range. Each dumbbell with two collars weighs 3.7 pounds (2.7 for the bar, .5 or each collar), and there are four 5lb weights, and four 2.5lb weights. So, the actual weight amounts you can obtain on a single dumbbell are: 3.7, 8.7, 13.7, 18.7, 23.7, 28.7, and 33.7pounds. This assumes you want the dumbbell to be balanced, and not put more weight on one side than the other. And, if you want a matched set of two dumbbells, then you can only obtain weights 3.7 to 18.7 in five-pound increments. As others have noted, the grips are VERY rough. Most people will want to either wear gloves, or put some tape around them. (I put painters tape on the grips - which is easily removed without residue if I later change my mind or want to put on something more cushioning like bike handlebar tape). I did get a tiny metal shard in my hand that had to be removed with tweezers, after playing with them a bit before I put the tape on. If you aren't going to use gloves or tape the grips, I would recommend you wash the grips, perhaps rubbing lightly with fine sand paper first, to remove any such shards before using them. Summary: great value problems: weak latches on case, rough/unfinished grips I'd really like to give this a 4.5 star ranking. The only reason I ranked it a 4.0 is because of these minor problems that have simple work-arounds.

High quality dumbels that are easy to put together and change out. Comfortable grip and has no smell. Comes with a near carrying case that fit the weights snug. Perfect for a home workout set. Great price for a set that will last you a long time.

Everything I was hoping to get. I just needed something to keep me in shape and strengthen some of my really used muscles now that I am retired. Easy to assemble and disassemble. I love the case it comes in to keep it well organized when not in use. Great product.

I bought two of these sets to expand their longer-term value for me and I’m very pleased so far. After two weeks of regular use, my only (minor) complaint is that the rubber 0-rings can slip off when changing the weights. Otherwise, these dumbbells are sturdy, comfortable to use, and can be easily expanded to increase the weight capacity, all at a bargain price. I’ve cancelled my gym membership: I’m getting a better workout at home with no monthly fees.

Brilliant set of Dumb bells 🙂 if they can be called that! Noiseless due to heavy duty rubber washers on both the handles as well as the tightening spinners. High quality chrome and excellent knurling on the handles. Threading is very deep and precision done. Zero slip when spinners are tightened. The weights have a non-slip baked enamel type sturdy coating which is much better than just chrome. Carry case is sturdy too. Price under 4K is a steal.

Muy buenas mancuernas, dignas de la marca AmazonBasics. Buen precio y buena calidad. Todo de hierro/acero, no como otras que vienen rellenas de arena y arman el tiradero cuando menos lo esperas. Las barras tienen muy buen agarre por su textura. Prestaron mucha atención a los detalles, si se fijan en las fotos, verán que hasta los collares tienen textura donde se aplica la fuerza. Muy bien diseñadas. Le caben cuatro platos de cada lado sin problemas. Se pueden poner todos los discos del kit en una sola mancuerna, vean las fotos. Si hacen eso, asegúrense de apretar muy bien los collares, pero no hay problema, hay más de una vuelta entera del collar para asegurar los cuatro platos, queda seguro. Le quedan perfectos los platos de otras marcas, tengo unas CAP y le quedan bien. El estuche en el que vienen está bastante bien, no es la gran cosa, pero funciona para guardarlas desarmadas perfectamente. Tiene un pequeño defecto de diseño, que dificulta usarlo como base para las mancuernas armadas cuando no están en uso. Si lo hubieran diseñado para que los platos más grandes quedaran por dentro, se podrían mantener las mancuernas armadas una sobre cada lado del estuche, pero no se puede (ver foto). Si se guardan armadas una en cada lado, el estuche se deforma (se puede apreciar bien en la foto). Pero descubrí que se pueden guardar bien sin deformar el estuche si se ponen unos platos de la mancuerna en una mitad del estuche y los otros en la otra mitad del estuche (ver última foto). No es lo ideal, pero funciona. Las he usado casi todos los días desde que las compré y no hay ninguna señal de que se vayan a oxidar o algo. Claro que siempre les paso una toalla después de usarlas para que no se queden con sudor. Estoy muy contento con esta compra.
