Psilocybin Mushroom Bible, The: The Definitive Guide to Growing and Using Magic Mushrooms

Very interesting, mostly a growing guide
I bought this for a friend who researches and writes about mushroom medicinals, but I thought this "bible" would go into psilocybin in the different species, which it does in summary, but the majority of the book is on how to grow them (which is of course still illegal in the UK). I'll still give it to her, but she might think I've got completely the wrong impression of her "hobby" 😂 I've been trying to grow my own Turkey Tail shrooms - the information in this book is really useful for growing any mushroom and the colour images make the text much easier to understand.

Great book
I originally bought "growing gourmet and medicinal mushrooms" by Paul Stamets as my "mushroom bible" for growing normal, (not magic) edible mushrooms but found that it was very dated both in information and writing style and the pictures were all in black and white which was not good for identification.I was recommended this book by the chap who owns the UK based Gourmet Woodland Mushrooms site who apparently isn't shy talking about/advising on his use of magic mushrooms (despite me not wanting to hear it...). He said that this was a great book of reference for all mushrooms because a lot of the information was non-specific to magics and could be applied to the normal, edible mushrooms that I was interested in.I have to say, he was right! It's a great reference book for any mushrooms. It shows things like the life cycles of mycelium and techniques which can be applied in any situation. All the pictures and diagrams are excellent qulity and all in colour. A lot of the information about magic mushrooms will be wasted on me but it's worth it for the non-specific stuff alone that has helped me with ideas about improving my yields on things like lions mane, shitake, hen of the woods etc.Really happy. Only gripe is that it looks like nobody proof read the book - at all :') there's a few spelling and grammar blunders.

superb pictorial guide
I love this book. It focuses on P.cubensis cultivation, from basic small set up to large scale using grain. Very interesting detail, with very useful, and also plenty pretty pictures of stages of growth. I like the tone that it's written in too. I would have liked some more detail in the liquid culture chapter, and some information on the method using an ultrasonic humidifier and a tent. But all in all this massively improves on my rudimentary knowledge based on a very old PF tek guide from the early internet.

Knowledge is power!
If you're looking to get into this hobby this book Is perfect. Ive read this front to back, back to front and ALWAYS refer to this if I'm unsure. Why I like this book:-Bright clean up to date photos, this one alone is a winner, it's great to read something but I find it a lot easier to follow with pictures that clearly show how in simple steps how something should be performed and how it should look and sometimes unfortunately shouldn't look if you get it wrong which is all to easy if you don't follow the correct procedures.-Well written and humorous, ignore the negative reviews, they don't know what they're talking about. Can't wait for the next book.Mush love!

A re cope for a basic PK tec cake is not given; how much instant coffee and why? Honey is mentioned on page 47 and then appears no more!Schoolboy errors

Outstanding book can’t praise the authors enough
Fantastic book. Easy to read with great pictures. Packed full of interesting info 5⭐️ Can’t say enough good things about it. Worth the extra money as is a little more expensive than other books of the same subject but ten times better.

Perfect for beginners, quickly gets you skilled and confident
This is an awesome reference for beginners and takes you into intermediate level for better results once you feel more confident. The steps with photos make it so much easier to follow. Good humour makes it a fun read so it’s not all serious, scientific text and the science lingo is at a minimum. You couldn’t ask for more starting out and quickly feel confident following it.

Packed with info, pictures and dry humor
The media could not be loaded. My daughter and I LOVE this book. Everything is laid out step by step with plenty of photos and as a visual person, this is so helpful! It's written in layman's terms and reads as if it was written by a good buddy instead of a PhD. I mean that in a good way! Highly recommend if you are a mushroom newbie like me!

Colores y más colores
🔬 use only. Ve por él.BILR: book I would like to read 😍
