FizikAntares 00 Black-Grey Made for Chameleon

The Fizik Antares is my go to saddle model for years now, I got the 00 carbon recently and it is great, super comfortable and has the right flex in the right parts. Incredible light and durable.

I have used the antares r3 and r1 one for a year or 2 after testing saddles for quite a while. The 00 is by far the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden. You would think since its only slightly padded and hard it would be the opposite. You can slide easy on it and its feather light...yes its pricey but worth the coin

I've been riding the Fizik Antares 00 for years and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the saddle itself. It fits me perfectly and has been my reliable go-to for both road and gravel (personal preference but I don't do well with the more planted saddles with channels). So this review has nothing to do with the quality of the product but more to do with what I actually received when ordering Amazon's $150 "used like new" version of this saddle that is shipped directly from one of their facilities. What I got was an obviously used OEM Specialized saddle of some make and model I'm unfamiliar with wrapped up in the battered legit packaging of the Fizik. Obviously someone scammed Amazon by purchasing the Antares and sending their old stock saddle back in it's place. And it's really no surprise that whoever received it at their return center couldn't tell the difference. What's surprising though is that by the looks of the packaging this has happened to more than one buyer. They even put a sticker on the beat up product packaging that thanks you for giving the "used like new" item a second life. No one in the market for the expensive, super light, all carbon fiber Fizik Antares would ever be duped by this and I hope, after my return and complaint, they pull it from their listings and stop continuing to try and resell it. Anyway, don't waste your time and definitely pay the extra for it from a reputable dealer as it is in fact to good to be true.

I have been using a very hard seat with a cut out. I know Fizik's reputation so thought I would try one. Light weight with carbon rails is what i always use. There are a few bad things about this saddle. It doesn't have a cut out so, if you don't get the angle perfect and have properly padded shorts, the nose can get you where you don't want to be got. (Note a newer model does have a depressed area down the center that should eliminate that problem.) That being said, it is still very comfortable on my sit bones which is a blessing. The other 2 problems I find are that it has a slick surface and I tend to slide on it too much. Some people like that, but not I. The second thing is that, maybe because I am used to a hard saddle, there is too much bounce in this one. If I went over cobbles with this I would need a seat belt. Also, and only for what it is worth to anyone buying a top saddle, this on sale is still expensive but the new model is $400. That seems crazy but if it works for you, maybe it is worth this one or the newer model.
