I cannot believe this is the price for something so awesome. I should buy another one just so I don't have to share this with my children. So I'm actually a native Chinese speaker that hasn't lived in China for 30 years, so trying to read Chinese now is such a chore haha. I read to my children daily and always have to pause to look up random characters I don't know and everyone was losing interest and I had to either dig out a dictionary or my phone. Well not anymore! I am so happy with this purchase. The only hiccup is when I first turned it on it wasn't fully charged and then needed a software update and then seemed super slow. But I patiently charged it and linked it to wifi and waited until the next day and voila it works magically. I was worried that it doesn't tell you the Pin Yin and only read out sentences but no if you just scan a word it gives you not only the pinyin but also the way to write the character and the dictionary definition. Amazing. Great job!

Works great. Need to work on utilizing more. You have to be precise with it to read accurate. I say this in terms of smooth movement across the page and at equal speed and the right angle. It does take some getting used to. Please be patient with it if you use it. It works great if you take the time to use it

The media could not be loaded.  I saw the Black Friday deal for $30 and I couldn’t resist. I actually bought it for my children so that they could try to read by themselves. It’s certainly not made for kids but I figured it was worth a shot. It’s easy to use, my little guy can do it with gentle reminders to slow down and stay straight. My problem it that you have to do it 100% perfect or it barely works and if you do it perfect it can still get many words wrong. Still worth it but that would be a huge problem if I was actually trying to learn Chinese.

The media could not be loaded.  This translator pen is a cool and very unique device that performs well. It is well constructed and has a color touch screen on the front and aluminum housing. It feels solid and well-made overall. The translation of paper text is accurate and almost flawless, making it easy and convenient to use. It also has a very neat function of multi-line scanning, allowing you to scan long sentences spanning over a few lines and get a full translation of it. The touch screen is responsive, and its interface is user friendly, further enhancing the user's experience. The device can also be used for recording voice memos, which might come handy if you want to record notes and ideas when reading a book.However, there are some areas where the device could be improved. The Wi-Fi connection is not that strong, causing difficulties when connecting to Wi-Fi, especially when the internet router is far away. It is supposed to have a Bluetooth connection, but I was not able to connect it to my phone and I have no idea how to fix it. Also, it has a limited language base, consisting only of English and Mandarin translations, which limits its usability as a translator. I was hoping I would be able to download additional languages to the device, but I cannot find any option for adding other languages besides those already pre-installed. And I have also noticed that the battery life is somewhat low especially when you use online translation, I had to recharge it every few hours.But what makes this pen scanner and translator such a unique device is its specialized functionality for aiding Chinese language learning. Not only does it pronounce scanned phrases in both English and Mandarin, but it can actually listen to you, recognize your pronunciation, translate it to text and most importantly analyze how well and correct your speech is! It provides a very detailed 5-point info-graphical feedback about how well you speak and how you can adjust your pronunciation according to the feedback until it's perfect (well, close to perfect). This is an invaluable feature when you try to learn a new language, especially Chinese.In summary, the translator pen is a uniquely useful and impressive device with accurate translations and fantastic speech analysis functionality. Despite the above-mentioned areas for improvement, I consider this device a high quality one that meets my language learning needs. The OCR scanning function is flawless, and it can handle multiple lines of text. The compact size and portability make it suitable for travel, and it can come in handy if you travel to China. I purchased this pen for my son to learn languages. After about 10 days of normal use, the pen could not start and it only showed the logo for a few seconds then the screen turned dark. I tried to charge it to see it would help. Nothing seems working. I have to return it.

Can I add another language?

Works for the most part. It does turn on and off here in there, though.
