We needed a panic button for my 85 year old Aunt. During the day she is alone for a few hours, and this device was perfect. We simply installed the app on her iPhone, picked two emergency contacts, and paired the button with her phone.To use the device, the phone must be turned on. Simply press and hold the panic button for three seconds, and SMS messages are sent to the emergency contacts. You do not need the resQ button client installed on the receiving phones...only unless you require the more advanced management featuresThe only con: battery is not really user replaceable. Since it only costs $25, and the lithium batteries generally last 5-10 years, this is not an issue. It's still a good buy, considering the monitoring services charge $100s of dollars per year.

I had high hopes for this to help my handicapped father get help when he needs it. I got it delivered and the unit would not sync with my cellphone as the directions say. I messaged the manufacturer who said that the battery was probably dead and that I needed to change it. The directions say that the battery is not replaceable and opening the case voids the warranty. I then returned the item for a refund. Waste of time.

I was excited to get this, but when it did arrive, the battery was dead and the clip was already broken off. I thought I could open it up to replace the battery but removing the front bezel revealed that it's just a cover. Doesn't appear to have a replaceable battery. Also NO instructions were provided. Needless to say, this is going back.

Bought this for my dad who lives 1000 miles away.No one in the family can get it to work. They all say it is a piece of junk. I want a refund and I’m not making my dad return it.

you have to have texting capability to your town's/city's police. Where I live this is not supported so unfortunately this is not the best option for my needs. I did return this

Product will not link up to blue tooth! Completely useless! (Star rating should be zero, could not submit a review w/o opting for one star.)

The app is horrible. Every time I go in to update information I get a notice saying it was unable to delete the button. I wasn't trying to delete the button. If you want to update contact information in the app (it says you can have up to 5 including local police), it starts a new form so you have to update ALL of the information including your own--and often I would get a glitch at that point saying the button has been registered and after entering info for multiple new contacts it would accept it and I would have to do it all again. The glitches do not inspire enough confidence for me to rely on this for its stated purpose.
