As for the lights, they work great! There is one screw holding the lights in their housing inside the safe. If you remove the one screw, pull the lights out and add two AA Batteries under the back cover, they work great. They come on when you open and go off when you close it. The safe is a little lighter weight than I expected but works as described and overall, I was impressed with this $40 bargain. I grabbed a second one as well for our travel trailer because this is a really good value in my opinion. There are no mounting holes drilled in it so if you want to screw it down, you will need to drill your own holes, JUST FYI. No problem in my opinion as I can drill holes where I need them anyway, but just mentioning it so you know.Don't know how fireproof it is but with this and some fire-proof bags, I feel confident that our stuff stored would fare well in a fire. As for waterproof, not a chance as the lid doesn't look like it would keep water out if submerged. However, it should protect from being sprayed with a hose or incidental water contact, just not 100% dry on inside. Again, not tested, but based on how it is made, that is my educated guess. Overall, nice metal safe with lots of features, for a great price. I hope this review helps, God Bless!

Great safe for the cost. Most floor safes are three times the cost of this one.

This is my second floor safe to buy from Amazon. The first one was around $250 which is the same price as most of the others in this size and quality range. When I saw this one for 1/5 of the price, I was skeptical, but the reviews convinced me to try it. Now that I have it, I understand why it is 1/5 of the price. The electronic combination lock on this safe is not secure. It is reset to the default combo each time the batteries are removed or it gives you the option to reset it to whatever you want. Since the battery compartment is accessible from the outside and not secured in itself, anybody that gets to this safe can open it. However, in my case, I plan to hide it and its value to me is simply in maintaining the contents, safe and dry and out of sight. So for me, I’m happy to pay $50 for this safe, but if this is going to be used in a non-hidden location where people may be able to find it I would not recommend it.

Cost and size very good. Amazon descriptions states it is waterproof, it is not. If in ground any water on top will pour right into safe.

IMHO...This floor safe CEMENTED in a slab will offer some protection for your valuables. The safes door is fairly strong. For the price it is worth the buy.The safe has room for many items. The safe is NOT waterproof or water-resistant IMHO.The instructions are awful. Watch the videos to limit future frustrations.
