Excellent For A Budget Handle
This Top Handle (Model No. CA142) arrives in a NEEWER Baasic branded, cardboard box. Inside the box is the handle itself along with a hex key.The top handle is well-made and has a good finish throughout. The shaft and main mounting portion of the handle is made from a light weight aluminium alloy, where as the handle section is made from a robust feeling plastic. The handle feels light in the hand but proved to be robust enough in use, and was able to handle my camera set up with no problem. Whilst not the most comfortable handle on the market, it is by no means uncomfortable to hold either. The handle connects to your camera cage using a 3/8”-16 screwthread and two Arri locating pins. A wingnut makes it easy enough to tighten/loosen by hand, but there’s a small hex socket in the middle which you can tighten with the included hex key, should you require that extra level of reassurance. On the front of the handle is a coldshoe mount. On the left side of this is a 1/4”-20 socket and on the right side is a 3/8”-16, both with holes for ARRI locating pins. On the top of the handle, towards the front is a 3/8”-16 metal socket with holes for Arri locating pins. And at the rear end of the top, is a second coldshoe mount. In use the handle worked well and proved quite versatile, with its various mounting points allowing further equipment to be attached to it.In conclusion, a budget handle is never going to be up to the build quality and comfort of a far more expensive handle. That being said, compared to other similarly priced budget handles, this one is excellent, with good build quality, reasonable levels of comfort and lots of useful mounting points.

Handy handle for occasional use.
Top handles are great for shooting hand held video from a low angle. They give a secure grip and make it easy to manipulate the camera. This handle requires a camera cage fitted to the camera. The attachment point has two small lugs to stop the handle twisting so make sure your cage has two small holes next to the central hole you intend to screw this into. The attachment screw has a plastic wing nut handle that’s a little difficult to get at because the handle is in the way.The angled shape of the handle puts the balance point a little further forward but big/heavy lenses will cause the whole thing to tilt forward. The handle is comfortable to hold for short periods but I wouldn’t like to be using it for hours at a time. There is a large screwed attachment point on the front top of the handle (handy for mounting a monitor) and a cold shoe at the rear, and on the angled portion at the front.Seems ok if you need a handle for occasional use.

Secure top handle for stable handheld footage
I’ve fitted this top handle to my ARRI cage and found it rock solid. The 3/8″ locating pin locks in without any play, so handheld shots stay steady even when I’m moving over rough terrain. Its aluminium-alloy core keeps weight down, yet it feels tough enough to hold a fully loaded rig. The ergonomic grip sat comfortably in my hand during marathon studio setups, and the quick-release design made swapping between gimbal and tripod swift. I clipped my shotgun mic and a small LED light into the cold-shoe mounts without fouling the balance. For field work or travel shoots, this handle has become an essential component of my kit.

Fantastic Product
This not only looks great but feels great. Fits perfectly on my caged Sony A6700. I was worried this may be a little bit long and would interfere with my vmount battery setup but it doesn't, perfect fit.

Useful for handheld filming
Been using this regularly on location shoots and it’s made handheld shots far more manageable. Locks in securely and doesn’t wiggle or shift during takes. Mounting accessories has been simple, especially lights and audio gear. The grip feels comfortable even after long setups, and I haven’t had to adjust anything mid-session. Feels balanced without being too bulky and hasn’t added much weight to the setup. It’s been in and out of my gear bag without showing wear, and no threading issues so far. Handy when you want a quick handle without overcomplicating things. Worked with different camera cages without fuss. I’ve got no reason to change it.

Basic by name but a good choice nonetheless
As the name suggests this is a basic, lightweight handle. I already have a few handles from Smallrig with a more premium feel and function, but, I'd still happily use this handle if it's all I had.The only purpose of using a handle in my case is to help carry the camera. I have the Sony a1ii and Tamron 35-150 which is, for one hand, fairly heavy kit on a 4-6 hour hike. I don't need the cold shoe or other attachment options but I can see their value and the cold shoe attachments would be good for a vlogger or basic videography with a small light or monitor. The turn screw is easy to turn and locks into place easily. Just check the mounting option carefully before buying this as you might need another type, i.e. one without the locating pins, or even a NATO style clamp. With this being the basic handle it doesn't have the little grooves for your fingers which is obviously a design choice for a "basic" model, but that along with the material means this could slip about in the hands if they're a bit wet from sweat. I won't knock a star off as this is the basic kit after all.
