Great Stack Will it HOld up or fail?
Got this for my first build and third quad all my others have been RTF so this is a tiny bit harder than RTF atleast before I eventually one day piece together a long range crossfire FPV Quad I figured I would go this route first, I will report back with any problems with stack some time febuary of 2018 when I get my frame in the mail because there have been reported issues with these on youtube with some people but I have seen succesful installs as well and own a great eachine assassine 180v2 and never had any problems with it.

Magic smoke from out of nowhere and very hot FC
So after not receiving it on time for whatever reason I got to work on building my new quad and it turned out great. Looked awesome and other than actually flying it it worked great. Everything was wired correctly and it worked just haven't flown due to goggle issues. So I go and hook the drone up to betaflight and within 5 minutes of it hooked up i start smelling smoke and immediately unhook it. The stack is very hot to the touch. I look it over and there is nothing touching or crossed so i hook it up again and this time it just beeps at me and doesn't register or connect to betaflight or the RX. Its seems that the Flight controller board may be dead. I hope that's not the case and at the very least that that is all. Wish somebody from Crazepony would assist me.

I know these are no longer being sold.
I purchased this here on Amazon and thought that the issues that others have ran into would have been ironed out, the bad stock would have been propagated, and that there is a statistical impossibility (overconfidence) that I could obtain a faulty board and if i did, I could maybe fix it. Well long story short--I got faulty one (the flight controller would not power up or provide power to any thing connected without USB). Being somewhat savvy in the world of electronics, I realized that the board was not producing 5 volts and with the battery connected there was a good input on the switching voltage regulator, and no voltage out. I looked up the part number and found that it may have been a lesser quality brand. I contacted the seller and they gave me a refund for the flight controller. which was a little more than 1/3 of the cost of the stack. I was happy with this because I could use that money for another flight controller for another drone. If anyone else has one of these boards with a 5 volt issue, and a hot air station, a good soldering iron, good solder, tweezers, and want to try to fix it, I cross-referenced the switching regulator to a AP5100 ($1) and it fixed my problem. So far, I have not been able to fly this yet, but I will given the first opportunity to do so. The VTX seems much clearer than what I am used to having (although the power is lower). I like that it has a slot for blackbox and through-holes for connecting devices.I am a bit confused about the design. The concept is great and I wish that the rest of the FPV world would have picked up this concept of having a everything (including the camera). My confusion is with the placement choice of the SD card slot, the lack of smart-audio to control the VTX, and having to use the CLI to make the DVR record remotely. Last and least, sending the stack out with big spacers made everyone have to replace them with shorter ones.Post Mortem Review-- Great Idea, some cheap (bad) parts used caused many people to dislike this product and maybe the company, some design snafu's on the DVR, and lack of simple in-flight controls of DVR, VTX (power, channel, and band), sending these out with the bigger spacers could have caused people with bulky tools to knock components off of the board. I wish they would give this idea another try, but use my suggestions. You hear me CrazyPony, Eachine, and Bangood? If so please send the new model to my address and I will review it and give real constructive and critical feedback!Update: I have flown this stack after repairing the FC and it does pretty well. I feel that there may be some latency issue with the FPV but I have no way of measuring it right now. I got the remote record setup and it works pretty good from transmitter. Be sure to turn off the motor off at zero throttle and turn on anti-gravity mode. If you use a buzzer, it will beep until you turn on your transmitter. I am really happy with this flight controller after I fixed it and with how the seller made things right.

Diodes fell off flight controller In 5 mins during setup
I really wanted to like this setup. Quality control failure. Built a high performance talon with the “stack x”. Had to fab up cam mounts and solder video signal yellow wire back on out of the box. No big deal. Whatever. Powered on, bind, fpv feed, awesome. Connected to Betaflight Configurator to setup and update. Within 10 minutes the whole stack is piping hot. Couldn’t touch the boards. So hot that it melted the solder that joins the resistors and diodes to the circuit..... and then they just fell off and disappeared. I troubleshooted for days until I discovered this after checking every single diode and resistor with a multi meter and magnifying glass, only to realize that I’m missing some. Don’t waste your money or even worse, your time.

performance
Do not buy this item, the camera lags and the ribbon connector is weak on the camera. I have to remove this camera and install a runcam sparrow. And you will never get support from Eachine.
