Fabulous for Fireplace
Solved the summer humidity problem in my living room! I have an older fireplace that allows warm air to infiltrate my house in the summer and cold air to seep inside in the winter. I had cut some plastic sheeting to cover the fireplace opening and used blue painter’s tape to attach it. Worked pretty well, but looked awful. So, I bought this very attractive, well made, fireplace cover. It has magnets sewn around the edges. I unboxed it, popped it over the plastic sheathing that was already in place, and it took a whopping minute (at most) to position it and just smooth it out a bit. Easy Peasy! After a few hours, I noticed something wonderful… the hygrometer showed that the humidity level had drastically dropped downstairs. This thing solved my horrible indoor humidity problem, and I’m saving money on my summer ac costs! Added bonus: little kiddos and mischievous cats aren’t playing with the fireplace doors anymore, either! Note: if you do have fireplace doors, make sure to factor the door handles in when measuring for fit. I did so and ordered slightly up in size than the actual opening. It’s a perfect fit. The product looks great and it’s solved my humidity problems and kiddo/cat safety problems.

Best design ever!
I took my folded product out of the packaging and hung it up with the built in magnets. No issues whatsoever and the draft immediately stopped. This product is well made and thick! It looks great hung up and the wrinkles relaxed within a day or so. I measured and ordered but I still feel that it is a little oversized but it still fits very well. Comes complete with a roll of Velcro. If the magnets don’t work and the Velcro doesn’t work, there are heavy duty grommets along the top to hang with hooks. Again, the magnets are super strong, so I didn’t need to make any adjustments or accommodations. I would definitely recommend and definitely purchase again, if I needed to.

Well-built and simple to use
The media could not be loaded. Opened up the box and the product was ready to go. It came with velcro and hooks as an option, but since my fireplace has a metal ledge around the perimeter, I just use the built-in magnets. It sticks right to the fireplace limiting the wind that normally rushed through. The area measured at 41in wide by 24 inches high, and the 42x24 cover fits perfectly. It's good to take into account that the magnets need to overlap the metal to work. Great value for the money. The insulation will limit the cold air in winter and the heat output in the summer. Plus the simple black color looks like nothing is there, better than the cardboard patch I had before. Definitely recommend.

Does a good job, but room for improvement
How I arrived at my overall rating: ***** (4.25 stars rounding to 4 stars)Value **** (4 stars)Purchase price: $36.99It's a little more expensive than others of the same size, but this one actually has a nice weight to it, meaning it can stay in place a little better.Quality/Durability ***** (5 stars)Duration of use: 20 monthsHappy with the quality.Ease of Use/Assembly/Install: **** (4 stars)It was easy for myself to install, but mine was on a marble firepace so the adhesives would work on it. If it were stone or brick or some other kind of rough material, you would need to find an alternative way of mounting (maybe masonry screws?)Usefulness/Appearance/Fun Factor: **** (4 stars)Keeps the draft out in the Winter and the warm air out in the Summer. Bottom can get pushed in when vacuuming.Note, I would add a brace onto the bottom of the fireplace opening so the cover has attachment points 360deg.

Great Material & Works Great!
The media could not be loaded. I spent a great deal of time looking for a cover for my gas fireplace to block the draft when not in use.As most have found, it’s nearly impossible to find an exact size. The measurement inside the marble surround of my fireplace is 35” wide by 32.5” high. There is a metal frame within the edges of the marble that measures about 1.25”. I purchased the 36” x 34” cover and figured out how to keep it firmly in place. The top edge of the cover attached firmly to the frame of the fireplace with a little overlap on each side. I tried just pressing the edges on the side and bottom inside the edges of the marble surround, but the cover would pop out on the sides. The marble surround is about .75” thick. So I cut lengths of the Velcro to attach to the edge of the marble surround on each side. I cut the Velcro lengths to about .5” wide to avoid any overhanging along the edge. That might compromise the strength of the attachment.Once I attached the Velcro on each side, I simply attached the cover along the top of the frame with the magnets and pressed the sides of the cover in to attach to the Velcro. The bottom edge just tucked in nicely without the need for Velcro, but I can attach Velcro along the bottom if necessary. As you can see from the video, it now fits quite well. Additionally, the material feels strong and looks great. It’s also thick enough to prevent air from coming through. This cover cost more than some of the others I was considering, but quality was more of a concern to me than price. So I’m very happy with my purchase.Update: Had some windy weather and found that the lower portion didn’t stay in place by simply being tucked in. I put one of my exercise sandbags in front of the cover to keep it in place at the bottom, and I’ll likely put some Velcro along the bottom as a permanent fix.
