This tool is extremely useful and sharpens welding rod at the angle of your choice super quickly and easily. The rotary tool is a very well made unit that has a widely variable speed. It can go up to 30,000 rpm but I’ve only used it at much lower speeds for optimal results and to preserve the diamond cutting disks. The kit comes with 10 of these large diamond disks which seem to last for a long time. The most impressive part of the kit is the heavy aluminum guide that screws to the front of the tool over the cutting disk. It has many sets of holes for the different angles and diameter of rod you are shaping. This guard it very thick and beautifully anodized which helps guide the rod precisely to the desired angle. The guard was much nicer than expected and, like any top quality tool, should last a lifetime. As testament to the intended longevity of this tool, extra brushes are included with the rotary tool. In addition to perfectly sharpening welding rod, I’ve found that it this tool can be used to precisely sharpen tiny flat head screwdrivers used for watch making, and other industries requiring fine assembly. I gave this kit 5 out of 5 stars as it far exceeded my expectations but it is not perfect. It can sharpen rods and screwdrivers at eight present angles which is plenty but I realized that by adding more sets of holes it could be made to grind at more angles if the manufacturer wanted to change it slightly. It also takes a little trial and error to get the diamond cutting wheel at just the perfect height. This only takes a minute or so and gets easier with experience. Finally, it would be great if the tool could be stored in the nice black clamshell storage case while the cutting wheel and angle guard were attached to the rotary tool. As it is now, it must be disassembled each time you want to put it into the case. These are very minor issues and don’t even add up to even half a star off the rating. Nothing is perfect but his tool is as close as I’ve found.

This is a great tool for a hobbyist welder, not sure how it would hold up in a production environment but it’s sharpened a lot of tungsten since I’ve had it. It makes it easy to get accurate grind angles and clean points on your TIG tungsten in very little time. The diamond grinding wheels have been holding up very well, I believe I’m still on the first one and it comes with several replacements. Overall a nice tool for the money.

Works well, but vibrates like hell on highest speed. Make sure you read the directions and have the arbor set at the proper height for this to work properly. It does a good job just turn down the speed and let it do its thing!

I got this one after returning one that didn't work with my Dremel even though it was supposed to. this one has some very good improvements over the one I returned. The dimensions will fit, no questions because it comes with the tool plus sharpener in one kit. The diamond discs was more substantial than in other kits. I'm a big fan of the selector wheel for speed that is separate from on/off, great for repeatable speed setting. The range of angles is larger than most other solutions in this price range, the ease of use by turning over the fitting to access other angles, without needing to remove the diamond disc is very effective. the best option is the sight guide for proper sharpener placement is highly effective vs other options

This product is horrible it does not work for very long it's super cheap it is a piece of crap I didn't have it very long at all and issues started a rising with it I have not had it for very long and May have sharpened my tungsten with it maybe 30 40 times and now it makes the worst noise ever if the brushings are already burned up after 30 or 40 uses and they only give you one extra set I mean come on it's not going to last very long very poor product it's a rip off

SWEET TOOL with the most angle options I've found. Wish i could bought just the tool head without the grinder cause I have 6 of em, but oh well, now the bright yellow one is JUST for this! Made sharpening FUN LOL. Went through and sharpened ALL my Tungstens and they look sooo much better than my hand/eye sharpened ones. AND they Arc-Start WAAAY BETTER and have a MUCH better looking "Arc Cone", if you know...you know. LOVE my present to myself! ONLY thing I wish different is that the hard case it came in was made for storing it ASSEMBLED! The box fits everything if you take it apart, but then you have to re-setup the wheel shaft hight and assemble the head. PITA! SOOO the box is relegated to the empty box shelf and I got a hard case from Harbor Freight and mod-ed the foam to fit it ASSEMBED with pill bottles fir the spare parts/wheels/tools...

I like that this can grind any size electrode with lots of different options on angle. The flexibility of tungsten size & angles for the price is great. The grinding attachment itself seems well made with tight fitting holes. They forgot to make sure the wheels were compatible though. The diamond coating doesn't cover the inside of the wheel and when you grind 1/16” or 0.040” electrodes they don't hit the abrasive. Had to order different wheels since that's what I bought this to sharpen. Also, the attachment does not fit a Dremel so if/when the rotary tool breaks I'll have to find a way to make an adapter. Instructions are a joke they're so poorly written - no excuse with so many translation options available today.

All the parts were shipped loose in a broken box. Grinder and wheels have grinder dust already. Product was clearly used and poorly repackaged and returned, then sold to me at full price.
