Any one with hand tools will love this
Two sided puck with coarse and fine grit. Works great for sharpening garden tools, axes and hatchets, hand tools for wood workers or any tool with a cutting edge that needs maintaining. Coarse side easily repairs a damaged edge then simply turn over puck to use fine side to finish for a sharp edge. Comes with a drawstring carry bag.

Nice solid stone
Bought to sharpen a new little hatchet. Works nicely, but I still prefer a square stone I can prop in a square space. Having both fine and not so fine sides on this one is a plus. Well packaged.

My Hatchet Needs This Stone!
I have a very dull hatchet. I haven’t taken very good care of it. I haven’t left it outside or used it as a hammer, but I just haven’t kept it sharp. Dull hatchets, like dull knives, are dangerous to those who use them. So, I had a choice: take my hatchet to a hardware store to sharpen it (at which point it would start to get dull again as soon as I used it once) or buy a sharpening stone. So, when I saw this dual grit sharpening disk what you only needed water to use, I ordered it.I know that I could hold it and move it over the blade, but I’d rather have it stationary and move the blade over it, so I took some old pieces of scrap wood and made a corner squeeze holder for the disk (see the picture I’m including with this). Then I proceeded to start sharpening my hatchet. I began to make some progress on getting it sharp again, but as I said, it is very dull. So, after a while I decided to take it to a hardware store to get it well-sharpened and then keep it that way with this sharpening disk. That’s no mark against this disk, which seems to have a perfect grit for fixing a blade with some minor imperfections and then putting a sharp edge on it, but I have a very dull hatchet!I didn’t have any difficulties in the mechanics of sharpening and in soaking the stone and keeping it wet. I would suggest that if you haven’t done this before that you would benefit from watching an online video. May this keep you on edge (and that’s a good thing!)
