Salt Water Sandals by Hoy Shoe Unisex-Child Surfer-K

I bought these sandals in navy blue for my toddler this summer. They are adorable, but we didn't wear them as much as expected because they are kind of slippery when wet, which means they aren't as handy as they would be with a grippier sole. He got tons of compliments on them whenever he wore them, however, and I found them to look nice with most of his summer clothes. They are also well made out of quality materials. My son has relatively wide feet, and these sandals needed to be buckled on the last hole right from the start, so you might want to steer clear if your child has wide feet. Overall I liked them and would purchase them again, mainly because they are so stylish and cute during hot months.

I love the salt water sandals. The shoes are adorable but at the end of the day my daughter wanted to be carried. When I took the shoe off her foot was cut, so I put it on last hole and she still complains a little. I think she might have wide feet and the shoes have to be broken in more. My complaint is I didn't have that problem with her other two pairs of salt water shoes I bought her Shoe Surfer Sandal and The Original Sandal.

Are these sandals made of the same leather as the classic sandal? We decided to switch to this style this year for my son and within 3 wears the “leather” has peeled off the side in a few spots. This never happened with his other sandals (which he wore daily for years). Amazon has already refunded us but I’m wondering if it’s a faulty sandal or will they all be like this. Not sure if I should order this style again.

We love these shoes. I order a pair every summer for my kids. This style runs a size big...so for instance, my little boy wears an 8 in other shoes, but in the Salt Waters Surfers, he wears a 7. The thick soled Salt Waters are the opposite. If I ordered a pair of thick soled for him, I would order a 9.Salt Waters are very stiff when you first get them. I just dip them in water for a minute, then put them on the kids' feet so they will mold to their foot. They get softer after a few wears after doing this.My kids have narrow-ish feet and these fit perfect for them.

We have owned a total of about 5 pairs of these sandals at our house and we keep coming back for more! These sandals are a classic! Fantastically made to hold up and they look great too! My kids wear these out playing in the yard and at the beach and they still look great.Only negative is that the buckles are hard for little hands to put on by themselves. However, that also means they can't take their shoes off when you don't want them to either! I like the buckles though because it gives my daughter practice....gets those little hands working on those fine motor skills.These seem to run a tad on the big side. So if you are between sizes you may want to size down.

I have purchased Salt Water sandals before and have been exceedingly pleased with them. These were no different. I love the color of the dark brown, they can be dressed up or worn casually. They held up all summer and will be worn some more next summer! I knew they would run big and ordered accordingly.What more can a momma ask for, stylish, affordable, durable! We always bathe in them the first time to allow them to mold to the foot! And there have never been any complaints about comfort. Wish I had them in every color.

I don't think these have any support for toddler feet. I think if you are going to use these a few times they would work for that. But for a toddler who is on the go, running and jumping these are not ideal. The sole is so thin that if they are running around they would feel every rock they stepped on and it would hurt. There is really no ankle support either. They are really cute and I wanted to love them but I'd rather spend this money on a shoe that has a lot more support for busy little feet.

My son had recently been fitted for shoes at another store, so I figured we would be fine with the size I ordered for him. Although the sandals themselves are fantastic and will definitely last, they most certainly run a size larger. They will be great for next summer, though.
