Stewart Thermostatic Control Electric Propagator, 38 cm - Black

Can not comment on the product as it didn’t work! Looks nece, rounded edges, comfortable, good size. HOWEVER*The propagator arrived packed in original box only, which is fine however the side of plastic lid was broken. i've read that quite a few people had same problem. I’d did not affect the performance, however*However the main thing is that propagator worked for one day (was slightly warm) and then STOPPED heating up. now its just an awkward box with a cable...All i needed its for the product to work.The manufacturer and/or handler are careless in my opinion.

Pretty sturdy I felt anyway. Pros it's spacious for small plants and easily fits on a windowsill. The ventilation flap seems to do the job and easily functions or though not airtight. Cons it could be taller in my view, controlling the temperature on a hot day especially can be difficult as needs attention, I'm not sure the thermostat fully detects the surrounding air temperature very well if at all and will still pump on if it feels it need be creating high temps so keep an eye and work the vent if not take the cover off completely for at least 45 mins to cool. Better to have digi thermometer to keep track of the humidity to assist. It's not too much hassle in the grand scheme. Can leave on 24 hrs but with weather change vs thermostat better not too leave it more than 48hrs without attention (and obviously watering/ feeding anyway :) ) remember water=vapour=high air humidity temp in hot conditions.. dont hot box the plants lol you wouldn't sit in a sauna without water for even 2 hrs would you?...

I have been using this for the last 6 weeks and I feel no warmth from the tray at all. Bought a thermometer with a probe to measure inside vs outside the propagator and there's no difference, in fact, it can get colder inside the electric propagator compared to outside. Not sure if I just got unlucky and received a faulty product or if the warming effect listed in the product description is exaggerated. Shame, I was looking forward to improving my seed germination rates earlier in the year.Two stars instead of one because the propagator has a nice sturdy lid with ventilation option.

I bought this in January 2014 £25~ plus £5~ P&P)I have the same concern as a reviewer from June 2014. I was not 100% sure if it was working or not. I too find the base is cool to the touch (there isn't a noticeable temperature difference).I also contacted the vendor and the lady was happy to talk; the strongest recommendation is that the unit would work best in a conservatory or greenhouse (i.e. where it is colder), as opposed to a kitchen window sill where mine is.I also concur a diode to show it is working would have helped.Nevertheless in its first season I I have been pleased with the results and most things I have planted have germinated well and quickly. I have planted a wide variety of vegetable seeds including more demanding ones like chillies and also various flowers etc that need a higher constant temperature.Unless you have specialist needs - you don't need to spend extra on a thermostatically controlled unit.

Just to clarify this product cannot be controlled, it is set at a certain temperature that you cannot choose or change. The product is very good though it does its job perfectly and my cacti and succulents seedling were at a 90% germination rate, I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a tool to help them grow more plants.

The propagator itself was a good well made product. However, having switched it on for 12 hours it never warmed. The temperature outside the unit was warmer than inside, according to the thermometers used to record. Extremely disappointing, was looking forward to using this, but it turned out to be a rather expensive unheated propagator.

Spring will soon be with us so many new plants will be required for our gardens.This propagator will enable me to produce both seeds, and cuttings far cheaper than purchasing from garden centres. Recommended.

Should've listened to reviews first! Very disappointed with the heat level or lack of should I say. I could fart in the box and heat it better than the current unit! Very disappointed in heat side of things but as for general looks it's good.
