It worked Great
We needed to replace our transponder that died of old age so purchased this one. It worked fine. Easy to change it out in my Indiana EZPass account. They charge $15 to register it and $1.50/month whether you use it or not. But the tolls are about ½ of what you would pay without it and you don't have to stop as you enter and leave each toll road. If you are doing a replacement, make sure you order a transponder for the state you have your account with. This system is taking over more and more of the toll roads etc. in the country. All your billing goes back through one account and Indiana (were our account is) pulls $ from your credit card to keep a small positive balance in your account. They do a very good job with this program.

Makes life simple
This functions as expected. If you find yourself traveling on the toll road/turnpike, this will make your life much easier. It is worth the one time fee, in order to fast track your entry/exiting of paid highways. Easy to install. Build quality is good. It does not have the annoying rattle that some garage door openers are plagued with.

Do NOT buy for occasional use: $18+/year ongoing subscription fee!
We live in Indianapolis and go up to Chicago occasionally. Tolls are a pain, so I thought I'd buy this for convenience... only to discover -- after purchasing -- there is an $18/year ongoing "management fee" (as of late 2024, will probably increase over time). So, if we go up to Chicago 2-3 times over the next 5 years, we'll pay about $100 every 5 years for this convenience (not counting the up front cost of the transponder). It doesn't look like IPass (Illinois EZPass) has a monthly fee like this, but they are switching to RFID stickers. It looks like the best option is Illinois Tollway's Pay By Plate (getipass.com) is the best option (and paying by card on Skyway). We'll use this transponder this weekend, consider it an mistake, and cancel it. The $18+/year ongoing fee should be provided clearly up front _before_ purchasing this transponder. It might be worth it for people living in northern Indiana, but definitely not for occasional/sporadic trips to Chicago.
