Great Quality with a few Caveats
Solid quality. However, a few things to consider… 1) The thumb screws that tie it to the backpack straps will start to loosen with frequent use. Lost my first one off my backpack. The more thick the padding/strap you have, the worst it can become. 2) Consider the weight of the gear you plan to use this with. The heavier the equipment, the more saggy it becomes and it will start to dig into your chest.

Excellent way to calorie your camera on your pack
Excellent camera holder. Holds the camera while even with a larger lens on it. Easy release. Exactly what I was looking for for my camera.

industry standard
All metal design, ability to take my camera off and store it within seconds, that in itself is a great product. Some people have said that it doesn't fit their backpack straps, but in the package that came with mine, the've included separate bolts that are longer which are able to accommodate a thicker backpack strap. So initially, trying to fit this on my northface borealis was a bit cumbersome, until I changed the bolts, then everything fit perfectly.

Peak Design Capture Camera clips v3 work superbly
I got the first one for my wife, so that she wouldn't have to continually hold her Nikon B500 on the hand strap. It worked out so well for that I've purchased two more and also an extra plate. She has hers mounted on her camera backpack strap. One of mine is in a similar position on my camera bag's strap. My other one is rigged onto a chest carrier for the camera that has the longer lens. The mechanisms are easy to apply to straps. The locking and release mechanisms work easily, and are very secure.

Quality product, but narrow
Peak design has fantastic products and this one is no different. My only complaint is that it doesn’t fit well with wide backpack straps.I was able to make it work, but it is tight.

Can't go without it now
I have a Peak Design strap that I used for a long time and it was nice, but if I had on multiple layers of clothing and a jacket with a hood/collar, plus a back pack and hydration pack/tube, the strap gets pretty annoying and in the way. Plus it bumps against your hip while hiking, and scrambling over a rock is a recipe disaster with it swinging loose like that. Half the time I'd have one hand holding the camera against my body anyway -- and at that point, why even have a strap? This Capture Clip is incredible, though. I've taken it on several trips now and am using it with a Pentax K-50 and the Peak Design Everyday Backpack (not sure when I became a Peak Design devotee, but apparently it happened), and even with a long lens attached to the camera it's pretty comfortable to wear. Haven't felt the need to try the Pro Pad yet. I pretty much only take pictures in places where I'm hiking around or climbing over stuff and with this clip the camera always feels secure. Have also gotten to the point where I can de/attach the camera from the clip with one hand. Haven't used the strap since, and often I'll take the backpack with me on short jaunts where I don't really need it just to have both my hands free. Absolutely recommended.

Great for hiking and a compact mirrorless camera...
This is my second capture clip v3 in the family. One is for use with a rangefinder style APS-C and the other for an SLR style (though compact) APS-C camera. Works great for our use case of backpacking and hiking using multi-day, day, or lightweight bicycling hydration packs. Especially useful if you're the type that uses hiking poles in both hands. Super simple to clip the camera in and out of the unit. Recommend adding a tether/leash of some sort. I use a coiled, plastic wrist thing for keys (you see them on kids for their book bag animal things all the time) that I bought at the local drug store. If you hike/backpack and want to keep a compact camera handy and yet still want to be able to use both hands when not shooting; and don't want to worry about your camera swinging into a rock; then this is an essential accessory. VERY well built, thoughtfully designed, and well-engineered. Highly recommended even at the high cost.UPDATE - 3 years later it is STILL my favorite accessory for my camera (aside from hoods or lens adapters). It has never failed and has kept my X100T safely on my shoulder strap during arduous and easy hikes from Pinnacles in CA to Mueller Hut Route in NZ.
