Great paddle for beginner to intermediate kayakers
I was looking for something to get out and get started with, but wasn't happy with the $30 paddles in sporting goods stores. They were ugly, didn't look efficient, and seemed heavier than these. Anything in this class was $80+ in store, so I came to Amazon and glad I did. This is a great paddle for beginners, feels better in the hands and has more options (feathering for paddling into wind) than the cheapies. These also feel lighter (but I'm not certain they are) than the $30 ones. Drip rings work well to keep you dry and they're as easy to store/transport as any 2 piece. Bonus, it matches my 2 Old Town kayaks that I picked up on clearance! If you're planning to spend a lot of time on the water, you might want to invest in yakgrips or gloves because these aren't as ergonomic as some of the higher end paddles (in the $300 range) and I tend to get blisters on long trips. Grips also help here in FL where the sun can soak in the black shaft and make it pretty hot to the touch. I'd also invest in a paddle leash and/or paddle floats to keep your investment safe in the event of a tip (or other oopsie!) because these will take on water pretty fast if you let them float away, probably due to the 2 part design and the feathering holes on the shaft. I learned this the hard way when I had to dive for mine in frigid spring water (luckily I could see it through the water!) Types of water I paddle: intercoastal ocean, flat lakes, spring fed rivers.

Very good paddle for the money!
This is the paddle you need if you already know better than to get a cheapo and also know better than to spend hundreds for a super paddle when all you wanna do is enjoy a casual day of kayaking. This paddle looks good, feels good, and is efficient and comfortable. I used this in my Ascend fishing sit in kayak so I went with the longer shaft. It is strong enough for supporting while entering and exiting your watercraft and gets a nice bite in the water. The drip rings do their job well and the flattened right hand shaft feels good in the hands and is also a reminder to keep the paddle in its correct position. Keep it stored out of the sun and it will last you for years, same for your kayak or canoe. The sun and weather will slowly deteriorate stuff if its left out, plastics will fade and become brittle.

Best paddle for my budget!
Not only do I love the fact that this paddle matches the color of my kayak, it works wonderfully! Im a beginner in the world of kayaking and made the mistake of buying the cheapest paddles I could find just to get out there. Those things flexed so badly with every stroke that after one outing they went right into the trash!Im sure that these paddles arent anywhere near those cream of the crop carbon fiber doo-dads, but at my level going out on lakes and rivers, these perform to my liking and then some. They are light enough to not bother me for the hour or two Im out, and dont have any noticeable give in the water.

Paddling my way with Magic!
What a great product. I appreciate the quality that Carlisle has put into an affordable paddle as the Magic Mystic. I was looking for a cheap paddle money wise, but not construction wise and I found it in this paddle. It is light weight and feels very sturdy providing confidence while paddling against the current as well as down stream. The paddle is ergonomically constructed to make it easier to rotate your paddle. It also comes in two pieces making it easy to store and the quick click button allows you to lock the paddle in three different paddling positions as well. Great paddle for the beginner or for the seasoned pro.

Good paddle for price.
I love the look and design of the paddle. Have used it quite a few times now and it seems to be sturdy enough. My only thing is that on the very first trip, the rubber seal on one side of the paddle failed and actually held water in to where it was sloshing around the paddle afterwards. Had to get a coat hanger down in there and remove it. Works fine now👍🏼

Good Paddle, would buy again!!
I am not a serious everyday competition paddler or anything, but do go out in the ocean so I need a certain level of quality. I needed a third paddle for a friend who came to visit my Island for a week. I chose this paddle because it was low cost and looked decent. After using it, I am satisfied with the feel of it. My other 2 paddles are Bending Branches. I sometimes use this Carlisle paddle myself just for variety. I also like the color of blue, it looks cool against my red Necky Looksha 17.

Very Smooth Paddle, Good Price
I was very impressed by this paddle. I bought it for my fiance for her birthday(along with a 10'6" Old Town Dirigo 106). I used it for about 10 minutes, but it felt much better than my Carlisle Day Tripper Aluminum Kayak Paddle - 2 Piece .I first noticed that it entered the water much smoother than my Day Tripper. I didn't realize how much I splashed until I used this paddle. It wasn't much lighter, if at all, but it did allow me to go faster than my Day Tripper. This paddle does come with splash guards. It breaks down into two pieces for easy travel and storage. It also allows you to clock the paddle 60 degrees if you prefer. When buying a kayak paddle for recreational or touring use(not whitewater rafting), you need to take into account your height, and measure the width of the kayak at the seat. Generally, if your kayak is less than 24 inches wide at the seat, you would go with a 220cm paddle, 230cm if you are tall(maybe 6' plus). If your Kayak is wider than 24 inches, you would go with a paddle 230cm, and 240cm if you are tall. It also depends on what is comfortable for you, so the best thing to do would be to try out a bunch of different length paddles until you find the length you like best. However, that might not be possible for most people. I figured I'd type this out to help out my fellow kayakers :).
