Q: What is the best way to apply this to a yard to control fleas & chiggers? Reviews say powder doesn't mix w/H2O & is too fine for spreader.

To fine to mix with h2o just sprinkle it on the ground.

I don’t know the mesh size but I used it to get the snakes away from the house. The sulphuric burns their bellies so they stay away

It depends on how low you want to lower your ph. It is also something you would need to apply again and again. Its not a short term solution

Yes, but the method of adding sulfur is a biological process, which is slow, instead of a chemical reaction, which is fast. Sulfur lowers the ph by way of soil bacteria converting the sulfur to sulfuric acid which lowers the ph. This process however takes 1 warm season, in soil that is not flooded or swampy, or else you get hydrogen sulfide instead which burns roots. As you have such high ph you probably have lots of lime deposits in your soil, these deposits will keep raising the ph over time as well so you will need to add sulfur every year to counteract the parts of your soil breaking down to create a high ph.
