I don't have a problem with squirrels visiting my garden. In fact, I have a squirrel feeder, but lately I have had one pesty squirrel who keeps biting large holes and ruining my bird feeders! I decided to give these a try. They arrived the very next day, and using the cable ties provided, within 5 minutes I'd secured them to the branch. Touch wood, it seems to have done the trick, and he's now sticking to his own squirrel feeder. As there are so many in the pack, I also used some on a small ledge above my front door, as it seems to be a favourite resting place for our resident pigeons. As the ledge is concrete, I decided to fix it using a silicone sealant (the type you normally use on baths or showers), and it worked a treat. No more pigeon poop on my front step. What I like about the product: 1) It's good quality polypropylene plastic rather than metal, so you don't have to worry about the spikes rusting, and it looks like it will last a long time. 2) The spikes come in strips about 16 inches long and about 1-5/8 inches wide at the base, and I like that they can be easily trimmed with a pair of scissors or a sharp knife. They are not only pre-perforated (about every four inches) so they can be easily cut to length, but they are also perforated lengthwise in thirds so you can make narrower strips about 1/2 inch wide, which is what I needed above our front door. 3) I feel their key feature is that the spikes are at various different lengths, which makes it almost impossible for critters to get any sort of footing. Even the hole where the screw goes has a small spike next to it. 4) The points are plenty sharp enough to discourage birds and other critters but are not needle-sharp, so they are reasonably easy to work with without injuring yourself. I'd be happy to recommend giving them a try if you have any sort of critter or pest problem.

Have put the fence spikes on They have been there for a few days now. It appears to discourage the pigeons quite a bit but, it does not stop them completely. In stead of them landing several times a day, it has now reduced to just once or twice a day. This means that there is a lot less bird mess down the fence and on the drive. So, all in all they are a lot better than than the normal run of the mill short ones, which we also put up.

These are absolutely brilliant. I’ve recently reviewed the alternative spikes sold by a variety of different companies which are metal, require assembly which takes an age and ultimately feel a bit cheap, regardless of their effectiveness. These are a step above and having compared prices, are actually cheaper (I paid £18). Comparing the two, these are smaller profile in terms of height, so aren’t immediately obvious, are made of hard moulded plastic so will no doubt last longer with rusting, significantly easier to screw in because of the smaller profile, but provide exactly the same effective result, just better and easier to implement. I used screws into the wood (included), cable ties are also included. Very happy with this product and I wish I’d seen and installed these first rather than the metal self assembled eyeball removing alternative. 100% recommended, highly effective and high quality.

Really good product only issue was doesn't tell you there is a law for height rules. Got to prevent squirrels running along fence
