I used this to make a sauce/syrup for venison and it was out of this world. After simmering in water to make a sort of tea, I strained it, added molasses, then added more sarsparilla and let it sit in the fridge overnight. The flavor was strong but smooth. Can't wait to make some more.

This brought back a lot of memories for me when I made this for the first time. The only thing it did have an aftertaste that wasn’t familiar with.

At first I thought many of the pieces were too large, but it's fine.. I'll put a piece in boiling water to increase the complexity of my tea.

I steeped two peaces of dried root in a cup of boiled water. The hot sarsaparilla root tea had a slight licorice taste and flavor. It felt refreshing and slightly sweet. Good herbal tea alternative!
