Style varies
Nice light bulbs but unfortunately I ordered 2 for a breakfast bar and when they arrived they weren't the same. One is clear glass and one is tinted. I was expecting a pair and much prefer the clear glass one.

I've seen the light (and it looks lovely!)
I bought this to go in a vintage-look modern lamp. I already had a bulb which I thought was going to do, but when the lamp arrived, unfortunately it turned out to have an edison screw fitting. So, off to amazon I ventured to find a replacement.I eventually settled on this one as a compromise between style and price. I could have spent three times as much as I did on this bulb, and for that I could have got a larger bulb, or one with a more intricate filament. However, I am quite happy with this. The glass is very smooth and clear (I have seen others which have a more 'vintage' looking glass, with tool marks and colour in the glass). The bulb is slightly longer than a normal bulb, and somewhat narrower. The filament is wound around a clear glass core, and forms the 'diamond' pattern you can see on the picture and box image. The glow is very like what you see on the box. I have taken a few pictures, but they look pretty rubbish, and to be honest, the box gives you the best impression of what it's going to look like. The light cast is a lovely warm colour, typical of filament bulbs. One thing I have noticed is that the heat which this gives off is quite a bit more than that from other incandescent bulbs. Be careful if you're putting this into an enclosed housing. It's rated at 40W, but unless your lamp is quite open, in design, i'd suggest it might be better in housings rated at 60w or over.Obviously, I don't know yet what the life of the bulb is going to be. It's in a conservatory, so it's going to be experiencing some extremes of temperature, but if it's particularly short i'll update this accordingly.
