Selections Potato Storage Basket Hopper

I recently had my kitchen refurbished and while most things have their place, we had a problem with potatoes, especially as we grow ours and how do you store a glut without them going mouldy or green? This is where this beauty comes in. As long as it's stored in a darkish place (no direct sunlight) it will ensure air circulates around your tatties keeping them fresh and mould-free, and has a lip at the bottom where you can pick as many as you like when you need them. Superb product which looks good on show or in a pantry, if you're lucky enough to have one (I'm not) and solves this issue completely. I really don't know why this hasn't come on the market before.I've had this product for a few months and the only thing I would add is after a while this will allow potatoes to chit, which is fine if you're happy to put the chitted potatoes into the ground and let them grow, but if you're not a frequent potato eater, it's not that pleasant to find them soft and growing.

I like the look and holds all the poatoes i need for a week, not sure long it will do.

I was used to storing my potatoes in the fridge or in a vegetable rack if I ran out of fridge space. I found that my potatoes rotted quickly if covered in plastic to shield from the light or went green really quickly if exposed to the light (even indirectly). This has been a godsend for keeping potatoes fresh (even if they start to chit a little) and keeping onions dry and fresh linger than any other treatment, except the fridge. I have kept some potatoes for up to 2 weeks and onions up to 3 weeks so am really impressed.The storage container is large enough for a family’s requirements for potatoes and similar veg for at least 2 weeks I would think and find the wicker construction sturdy even when full to allow it to be moved for cleaning. The only thing I haven’t worked out yet is how to effectively clean it especially if something has spoiled. I have taken a wet cloth with anti-bac spray to the inside and that seems to have worked but I think I need a better solution to cleaning long term

I'd used a potato bucket since my last hopper got damaged, but found I was wasting a lot as it was always the newer ones on top, yes I should have taken the ones from underneath but that really was too much faff. Having spent quite a time looking and rejecting the extortionate prices other hoppers were being sold for I came across this one, which I thought I'd try. To be honest I was fully expecting to have to return as it was so much cheaper than other baskets I'd seen, so was pleasantly surprised to find it was a good size, sturdy and no less a quality that other baskets of double the price! No more wasted spuds 😊

es muy bonita y queda perfecta. El tamaño esta muy bien ya que no abulta demasiado pero tiene una gran capacidad para guardar las patatas.
