Great bass, but also improves sound quality at all volumes
In brief, this is a decent sub which has improved the sound greatly in my car. So now a bit more detail. I bought this from Amazon and had it installed by a mobile auto electrician (about £50, but well worth the money). The same guy had fitted my new head unit a couple of months earlier (Pioneer SPH-230DAB double din). I have a VW EOS which has a folding hard top which takes up a fair amount of the boot when folded. Due to this I have to place the sub on its back, but that has made no difference to the excellent sound quality and bass - just be sure not to obscure the bass port on the right hand side. The block connector included with the sub makes it easy to disconnect, and I have not used the supplied brackets to secure the sub to the boot floor, so I can easily take it out if necessary. Instead of the brackets I staple-gunned two strips of Velcro along the back and this is enough to stop it moving around in the boot. Almost all leads are included and a good length. They are all already wired into the block connector at one end, and bare at the other end. But you will need a decent RCA/Phono lead - I bought a 4.5 metre one from Amazon for £8. The installer ran the power lead through the car to the fuse box by the driver's seat, and the phono lead and on/off lead to the back of the stereo. He grounded it on some metal bodywork in the boot - apparently the earth lead should be kept as short as possible to minimise interference. Setting up will depend on your vehicle, but here's my setup. My car is essentially a boot-back (saloon) rather than a hatchback. I set the gain and bass boost to about 75% and the crossover to about 100Hz. Then I played with the settings on the head unit until it sounded good with a range of music. I set the Low Pass for the sub to 100Hz, and the High Pass for the four full-range speakers to 100Hz also, so the sub is taking the deepest bass. The sound is excellent at all volumes, and because the sub is taking care of all the low bass, I can turn it right up with no distortion on most types of music. My head unit has three 'loudness' settings which I use to quickly decide on the 'bassy-ness', but I can also turn down the sub by decibel increments if needed. But that's only necessary for playing tracks like 'Wild Thing' by Tone Loc at loud volume. So - get a decent head unit first, then get this bad-boy installed and set-up properly - you won't regret it!

Great addition for a novice like myself!
This sounds great but do take this with a pinch of salt as I am not very familiar with car audio.I have a sub in the house (logitech G560) and I also had a pioneer underseat sub, but this new purchase blows both of them out of the water. My car now rattles in places it never rattled before but I believe once I play with the dials, I’ll soon find what works best with my car.I was luckily enough to have a dad with past experiences in this game so I was able to sit back and have an easy install but as a newbie I think I would’ve had to pay for someone to do it for me.I had to buy an RCA adapter for this as my radio did not have the right ports, so maybe check that when buying you have all the right parts/cables before buying. It’s quite big for my small hyundai i20 boot but I think if you really want to upgrade your sound system then this is something I’d highly recommend.I’m sure there are some music heads out there with the right advice but like I said, as a novice in this stuff I would recommend to anyone who was unsure about the performance of this sub.

Great Sound and relatively Easy to Install
Quite Easy to install considering it has to attach to the Stereo and the Battery. I did have to buy the right terminals for my battery and a RCA cable to connect it but I did expect this. I have never installed a subwoofer or really anything but a radio into my car but it only took me about 3 hours in total. My car is only a VW Fox so it is quite small but all the included cables reached to where they were needed and there was quite a lot of slack so definitely would fit in much longer/larger cars. The sound you can customise a lot with the 3 knobs on the side of the subwoofer and the settings on my Pioneer stereo if you connect it via rca rather than speaker line.Overall extremely happy with it and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a subwoofer.

Brilliant Subwoofer
Absolutely brilliant. The quality is great, the sound is awesome. Fitted in the boot of my Audi TT (literally made to fit perfect in this car, sits perfectly under the small shelf at the back of the boot without the need for fitting the brackets)Don’t hesitate, Amazing value for money and certainly more bass than you will need for this size car!

Good while it lasted….
Only had this sub for over a month and it stated to go quiet and crackle. Checked all connections but ended up returning the unit back to Amazon.Whilst it was working, it was a good active subwoofer. Not great, but good.First off, it takes up a quite a bit of room in the boot. I have an Audi A4 Avant and felt it was too big. That being said, that’s my fault for not checking the size. What did I like? Once installed, I used the high level connection, it took me sometime to tune it in. That’s quite normal with bass. However, I found it struggled with the wide variety of music I listen too. For pumping hard rock, electronic music it’s great. But, it can’t handle acoustic or classical without overpowering the music. So, if it had lasted, I may have found the time to add a high level converter to see if that might help. Sadly, it wasn’t to be.

Decent for the money
Bought this to go in the boot. A moderate size subwoofer that actually packs a lot of punch for the money. Easy to install providing you know how to solder wires. Comes with everything you need to get going, although you may need to buy some ring terminals to go around your battery and ground bolts.
