Perfect
This game unit is perfect for retro gaming. Not only does it have android, so you can do so much more with it, but the linux front end Is designed really well Every game I've played on it so far has been flawless also has great audio. Would definitely recommend it.

You get what you pay for
When I pulled this out of the undamaged packaging and tested out the buttons, the R1 bumper immediately stuck down and has to be *pulled* out of being clicked, it doesn't just bounce back like the other bumpers, which makes it unusable. When I ordered a replacement, it originally said it would be here in 1 day but it seems the seller has now delayed shipping the replacement and now there's no estimate on when I'll get the replacement. Doesn't make me feel like the seller owns their mistakes or cares that I got a faulty device. The device software is functionally OK. I downloaded an N64 ROM and that works flawlessly so far, but I've used Moonlight with GameStream on my PC without issues for years, but this device wouldn't stream anything over GameStream no matter what, even on the lowest possible bitrate settings. Had to switch my host PC to use Sunshine instead of GameStream, but it's more difficult to set up on the host side because of differences in resolution and aspect ratio.

Misleading, Not Made of Metal- Terrible PS2 Support
I had high hopes for this. I’d read it was made of metal, like their M series, answers in Amazon said metal. I noticed that PS2 support was added with the recent update. However upon getting it, the battery life is terrible. Also popping out the SD cards is rough- not the *best* design. Even with fingernails, it was quite the endeavor to pop them out. The body- eh. The plastic feels cheap. Also, putting the reset/F button on the bottom feels like an oversight. To exit a game, having to reach down to F, then up to Start with another finger- sheesh. I’d also love a full-size HDMI port, as opposed to the easily-broken and hard to find Micro-HDMI. Then I loaded my ROMs, thinking it supported PS2 games- which is does with the emulator. But nothing runs, at all. Just an empty promise. Also the moment I started to handle it, the glue from the rubber pads at the bottom ended up on my fingers- definitely not a good sign. The screen is nice, but the UI fonts are tiny and unable to be changed to be bigger/easier on the eyes. Touch screen works pretty decently in Android. Buttons are clicky and pretty satisfying. The addition of the screen protector for free was a nice touch. However, the pros just don’t quite seem to beat out the cons.As for more cons- the firmware hasn’t had an update since, what- 2021? I’d heard Anbernic was really good about updates, unlike Retroid. But that doesn’t quite ring true. You can’t update the firmware for Android through the actual Android OS either. Regardless- I had a lot of hopes set out for this little guy, but it just came up short, and shorter than I’d like. So, back to my original plan to buy a Steam Deck and just run emulators on that instead. I still hope and wish that Anbernic hits it out of the park with their next product but as far as a top of the line goes (not the WIN, because that throne is taken by Steam Deck/ROG Ally)- sadly it just doesn’t hit it out of the park. As such, I’ve returned my RG552 and ordered a Steam Deck.Happy trails, Anbernic- I’m rooting for you.

Expected more
Screen is great, but battery life and button layout are not. Only able to play for less than 2 hours before needing charged. Function button is useless based on location. R buttons are tough to use and the Linux boot configuration is not as good as other models. For the price I expected something much better

Felt lite material
When it arrived you can tell it had been used and refurbished the screen protector was wrong size , the SD CARDS were inside and the game quantity was lower then expected. The screen protector was already installed it's how I knew it was used and it worked but was lighter then my sons version. At the end of day don't sell me something call it new and I pay new and get it was used/refurbished.
