Light weight, easy to use, nice features
I'm not sure how sturdy it is but I can say for sure it's easy to use and light to handle. I have picked up a penny and half of a pistachio shell quite easily, using the tips of the grabber.. I've moved a smallish brass trash can to make it more accessible using it and that was easy. It has a couple features I thought were good - it folds in half readily and it's easy to change orientation of the head from vertical to horizontal and back, to reach into different spaces.I did note that objects that I want to grab in the main part of the grabber needed to be larger in diameter than the diameter of the grabber, or they tended to slip out - a standard salt shaker for example. Something the size of a coke can would be a breeze.

Folding grabber
It's a grabber that can be folded to take less space. It has a magnetic part that would be useful for picking up metallic objects providing they're not too heavy. The end could be rotated into 2 configurations, vertical or horizontal.

It picks up very small articles off the floor.
It works wonderful. I'm not allowed to bend over due to hip and back problems. And I can grab anything off the floor now.

have used daily for three months with only one issue
when pulling apart to fold, the plastic end cap would often remain lodged in its counterpart. a bit of re-glueing fixed the problem. otherwise these have been unremarkably excellent.

Great for after hip surgery!
I had hip replacement surgery and this item was a big help. I used it for everything from a dropped pill to taking off socks. It was also helpful to reach things that were out of my reach. I loved not having to bother my husband or son for every little thing. I've had it for 3 months now and I can safely say that it was a bargain. I'm glad I didn't waste my money on a more expensive gripper.

Good to go for now.
As a diffABLEd person, I have several of these reacher/grabber gizmos around my apartment. My favorite one actually broke very unexpectedly and I was amazed to see the obvious flaw in its design. With that in mind I paid close attention to the features of the models I looked at when I went to buy a replacement for that broken one. The one that broke was a shorter model than most available (by about 6 inches or so, depending on the model you're comparing it to) and I was sad to find that there aren't many shorter models available without paying relatively high prices for them. I didn't want to spend what I had on the model that broke, even though it worked great while it was in one piece. I decided to get one of the average length models, even though at times it is harder to retrieve items from the claws while you are holding them securely closed, especially when picking things up from a seated position. I looked at the prices, and the mechanics of the trigger mechanism (so as not to get one with the same defective design I had just discovered the hard way) and also considered the colors available, to make it easier to keep each one in its designated place of use, and decided on this model. While this one doesn't really feel as diligently manufactured as my other one, it does have all the features I wanted, including an attached magnet that isn't in a location making its use awkward, and claws with a well designed pattern for gripping small items. I do have some of these devices that do NOT work well for grabbing small things and that makes them much less user friendly. It is comfortable to use, even though I wish it were a few inches shorter. This model is light, and that may or may not be representative of its quality. That is yet to be seen. It is doing a good job for now and we will see if it offers the longevity in its quality that I'd be delighted to see given it's great price point.

How have I lived without it
I never knew I needed a grabber until I did. After hip surgery I could not bend so needed a way to pick up things I dropped. This is perfect. I cannot believe the tiny things it can grab. It is perfect for use following my surgery. I bought two to have one always handy. They are so useful that they will be sticking around after I am healed and could bend. Why should I bend with this handy little guy. I never knew I needed one, but now I know I do.
