Superb Industrial Quality Borescope
The media could not be loaded. Superb Industrial Quality BorescopeThe DEPSTECH 7” IPS Screen Borescope exceeded all my expectations in only two days of use. I am not a professional mechanic, electrician, or plumber. However, I am a skilled DIYer with decades of experience in those areas and more. My old borescope never really performed well, had a very short cable, and poor resolution. When DEPSTECH introduced this industrial quality scope, I felt it was worth the cost. From the time that I unboxed it, I knew the company had spared no expense. The waterproof case with custom cutouts not only protects the scope, it makes it easy to carry from job to job without fear of damage. The scope’s heavy duty protective sleeve has already proved invaluable to this often clumsy worker. The 13.5 foot flexible cable attaches to the unit by way of a 3 foot soft wire that makes it easy to use and less likely to drop. The scope can be switched among the three lens for different views. The intensity of the LED lights is adjustable as well as the angle of the view. There is even a split-screen viewing option. I was amazed at the high resolution of both single frame and video images. I also didn’t expect to find the sound recording and playback capability that will come in handy the next time I am trying to diagnose a nasty engine ping. The still and video images along with sound are recorded on a standard micro SD card that was already installed. Be sure to format the card before use. That is done along with making various systems adjustments through an on-screen system. The card can be transferred to a laptop or desktop computer for printing still images or sharing video files. There is so much more I could write about this industrial quality borescope. Suffice it to say, I will be using it on a regular basis for a long time. It has already allowed me to inspect everything from a jammed garbage disposal to a ZTR mower muffler, a stopped-up toilet, to the lint filled exhaust system on a clothes dryer. I even found a lost tool that had fallen behind a heavy tool cabinet! I highly recommend the DEPSTECH DS700 Borescope for any DIYer or professional craftsman.

Affordable Excellence!
Needed to look inside some walls & an inaccessible roof overframe area to investigate an interior moisture problem. My initial thought was to rent a boroscope but learned the cost of a 1 day rental would be $200+. (It also occurred to me most rental boroscopes are intended for inspecting sewer lines.. yeah.. yuck!)Decided to see what was available on Amazon.. Well, there's a bunch! Over the years I've learned "cheap tools" rarely do the job so my goal was to purchase the best tool available for less than the cost of a 1 day rental. After spending some time comparing (reading specs & reviews) I purchased this one (the DEPSTECH 7")I'm not easily or often impressed but this thing blew me away! It's the real deal, a commercial grade instrument in a custom-fitted travel case! It feels solidly built, the controls feel and operate like they were designed and refined by someone knowledgeable and caring. The capabilities are broad and well explained in the listing so I won't rehash them here. What I will say is screen resolution is amazing, colors are natural and accurate and control operation is intuitive. IMPRESSIVE!!Caveats? No device can do everything well and, for my use, this one has a couple limitations. 1) The most significant challenge was the flexibility of the cable - great for snaking a conduit or pipe but not so great when trying to explore a less defined space. It was a struggle to get it to go where I wanted it; with some pre-bending and by banking off framing members, I managed to accomplish the mission but only because having 3 different camera angles diminished the need for precise positioning. 2) A secondary challenge (more an annoyance) is the 16+ foot length of the cable - again, great for a defined space like pipe or conduit but a PITA when you're trying to explore an irregular area - as you're twisting the portion of the cable in your hands to maneuver the camera end towards your objective, the excess additional length is fighting you and tending to tangle and/or obscure the screen..Improvements? 1) Offer an optional short cable - 5 or 6 foot 2) Offer an optional maneuverable/articulating cable, one where the operator could remotely (via a joystick?) cause the last foot of the cable to "curve"Bottom line? This is a superior quality device and an incredible value!

Amazing tool, but cheap hook attachment broke
Incredibly useful tool for pulling wire through walls/ceilings. Worked great until the hook attachment broke. Hook is made out of light weight aluminum. It bent a few times while fishing wire through a wall cavity with cellulose insulation. Only took about 4 or 5 bends, then it broke. Now I have to try to find replacement parts.
