The Asylum Confessions

This is such a good book to read if you like short stories. Super great for reading in downtime and when you only have a few minutes to spare!

I actually enjoyed this easy reader. Dark, yet still a bit light. Easy to follow the stories and very interesting…honestly, my only two issues:1. Poor editing. Quite a few really obvious spelling mistakes.2. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love the way of the repeat bared invite at the end of every chapter.

Very interesting listening to the stories within the story. I love the darkness and the details. I wish there was more from Jack.

I enjoyed the stories and even liked that it was simply written and a quick read. However, the lack of editing is frustrating. I know he said in the beginning he’s not an author but the spelling mistakes are distracting. It’s also weird and frustrating how you get a bar invite at the end of each story. Once at the end of the book would have been enough.

I always love a good origin story especially for the “villain”. Why did the bad guy go bad, that kind of thing. Kept me wanting more.

This is a first for me of Jack Steen. That being said, I really enjoyed the stories. They're short and sweet. The ONLY thing that I don't like too much is the (character to Jack) parts. I just feel like the story can continue on without breaking it up but if all the books are like that, it won't deter me from reading them. I look forward to reading each one of the books in the series.

Absolutely in love with these stories, I found myself really relating to the storyteller.. love his sense of humor or just his human approach to his job. Easy to read, maybe not exactly for the light hearted or those easily triggered by the evils of this world. But for those who aren't I highly suggest this book. I'm making my way through the series now. (There are some editing issues, but honestly who cares.. and if you do, don't get into this book).

I got this ad on Facebook that said I needed to try this book. I love to read, but I have a hard time finding things I enjoy. I get bored. Once I got started with this one I couldn't put it down. I will buy the rest of them, I'm looking forward to reading them, well written, unique murder situation. Main character is well written with emotion and depth, and Secret of his own I think.

This book was unexpectedly good! Now, I'm not as jittery about these murder stories as I probably should be, but that's mainly because I've been on a true crime roll and sadly become a little detached. But I still found these stories to bring an incredible twist to the table, in that they truly let you in on the killers' motivations, thoughts, and feelings. The style is a little unconventional, but IMHO that just adds to the stories' authenticity and overall atmosphere. Will be continuing the ACF series ASAP.

Wow what a story I was hooked from the start, thoroughly enjoyed it. Felt so sorry for Bucket though!Highly recommend!

Not enough depth in the characters so becomes boring. Only superficially covers the patients and their stories, just left unsatisfied

The stories are interesting. They are ok.

Still not worked out if these are based on true stories or complete fiction but an interesting read the story of Bucket broke me, poor women!Would be interested in reading more from this author however a proof reader is needed as there’s a few silly mistakes with spelling and grammar that distract from the stories, no shame there even the best authors make mistakes that’s why they have proof readers
