glendale GL1042 3 x 3 m Seville Mocha Gazebo - Grey

Well packaged for delivery.Construction requires a minimum of 2 people and a step ladder. The construction diagrams were poor (clear high res photos would have been better) and the parts labels were incorrect. This caused the whole construction to be erected by trial and error, taking 3 times as long as it should have.Step 1 One of the square pole uprights was dented at the end where the pole end cap should fit. This required some hammering with a soft mallet to straighten the end into a square so the end cap would fit. One crossbeam end cap was missing.Step 2 The uprights were incorrectly labelled and it was unclear which way round the top rail should fit. The cleat could be either side.Step 3 Requires someone to support the roof bars and should be combined with Step 4 with the other vertical poles in place (could use another person to do this safely ie 3 people required). Also it is not made clear which way round to fit the side rails with the runners (Each runner has a fixed hook at one end).Step 5 The middle roof bar contains the pulley draw string system and this has a fixed hook which has to correspond with fixed hooks on the side rails. So the blind slides one way only and the draw string end has to correspond with the cleat and attachments on the top rail fitted at stage 2.I realised that my original plan to have the drawstring at the house end of the Pergola and draw the blind towards the house was not possible. The draw string has to be opposite the fixed end of the blind. This meant reconstructing the pergola!!Finally the instructions say that "You must secure your Gazebo to the ground as soon as it is built" They supply tent pegs for fixing to grass and say that "For hard surface fixing bolts must be used" but they do not supply the fixing bolts which will require further research and purchase by myself! (For the price, these should have been included).To top it all, the long rods that support the blind are steel with single coat of Hammerite type paint. They were delivered with rusty ends and will immediately get worse once exposed to the weather and will stain the blind with rust. I have coated the exposed rusty steel with some Hammerite but this should have been checked at quality control (If they have any) and stainless steel or alloy rods should have been used in the first place!

Ordered Friday dispatched Monday delivered Tuesday..impressed. couple of instructions issues mind but that could be me reading wrong. Highly recommend 😊😊😊
