I tried these popsicle bags out to freeze Gatorade during a stomach bug that hit our family. The bags are thicker and shorter than I was hoping for. The popsicles end up pretty thick, which defrosted a little less nicely than store brand popsicles. It also needs to be tied to close, which i ended up finding awkward both for use and for the popsicle shape. I didn't love these bags, but they did work to freeze some Gatorade pops in a pinch.

If you are making freezer pops, these bags are twice the diameter of normal store freezer pops (they hold 200ml). Maybe good if you cut them in half but almost too much fits in them for one freezer pop. The collapsible funnel is really nice and very helpful. One end of the bag is already sealed but there is no way to seal the other end. I'm not sure if a food sealer could be used. Twist ties work but we stood them up in a pitcher in the freezer while they froze. Fun for kids to do but not exactly easy.

The media could not be loaded.  So for reference, I have grown up using this type of bag to make “bolis” or Mexican popsicles. Once you figure out how much to fill and tie it goes by quickly. The small bags I have filled are only 4 oz, most store bought popsicles are between 3-4oz, the bags I have filled almost to the top is 1 full cup. I cannot tie those. My average popsicle that I can still comfortably tie is approximately 200ml or a little over 6 1/2 oz. You can fill them as much as you are comfortable with. Twisting them closed I find helps to tie the knot.Since I have done these many times before it is easier for me now. I haven’t done them in a while and it was cumbersome at first, but after the first dozen it came easier and production was much faster. It comes with 500, by the time you are finished trying these you will be a pro. Textures I have worked with have been no issue as long as it’s thin enough to go through the funnel. The purple ones I made were blended blueberries and guanábana mixed with yogurt and a just enough drinking coconut milk to make it pourable. The bright pink ones were fresh strawberries and watermelon with lime juice and canned coconut milk, the ones I used for showing measurements In the photos were straight liquid, it was leftover of the strawberry watermelon mixture mixed with strawberry sparkling water for a punch. These will freeze like straight up ice cubes to be used as such later. If you add alcohol though it would make a nice icee since that makes the liquid not freeze so solid. These were a great purchase and look forward to grabbing more. It’s the perfect way to use up fridge fruit that has little shelf life left.Another tip, if you mark a board or something that stands upright, when you find a fill that you are most comfortable with, when you fill your bag, hold it up to your marks to see if it’s the same size, this make them more uniform. If you do it enough though it because less necessary.

I really wanted these Disposable Ice Pop Bags Popsicle Bags to work out well. Making our own popsicles is a great way to use healthy options that are easy to enjoy – plus, it’s fun to make your own summertime treats. The bags come with a funnel, which allows you to fill the pouch. This is a great idea but it is difficult to hold the bag, the funnel and pour into it at the same time. As the bag becomes fuller, it becomes more challenging to hold it up to the funnel. I was able to fill the bags but again, it took more effort than I had hoped.Sealing the bag was even more of a challenge. There is no built in or supplied closing mechanism for these popsicle bags. I decided that I would go with tying them, as seen in the pictures. Having used a thicker yogurt and fruit for the popsicle, I had to work to move it more fully down into the tube and could only have so much fill and still successfully tie them. Messes were made as I tried to figure this all out. In the end, you can see the size of the empty bag next to the filled and tied one. The popsicle is still a good size but it’s not as long as I would have expected. Additionally, there was a small amount of yogurt in the knot, meaning that the end will need to be cut off before consuming.Overall, they are usable but there are some challenges in using them. I do not think this is the style for me.

I grew up eating different flavors of ice pops or Popsicles. When I saw this, I just had to try it. My kids and I made grape, strawberry, and blueberry flavors ice pops. It is a big hit during this hot, summer days!I highly recommend if you have little ones.
