I got this for a 18” x 18” x 16” leather ottoman pouf I ordered off Etsy that didn’t come with any structural inside. 10lb didn't fill it though so I had to come back for seconds.As expected, the foam compacts quite a bit under weight so it was basically impossible to fill the pouf enough to make it sturdy enough to sit on. I had to get a cheap smaller storage box off Amazon to put into the pouf to give it more structure and then used this to fill around.The foam itself is fine. It adds a layer of comfort for my footsies or my rump when either are on top of the pouf. I think this filling would probably be better for use cases where there isn’t a ton of weight that’ll be on top. A dog bed or a pillow is probably fine.I don’t notice any scent or off-gassing when I unwrapped the package. Maybe I’m just not very sensitive to that scent, but nothing about it bothered my olfactory senses. The foam also decompressed pretty rapidly once I separated it out a bit. It is a chore to kinda rip it up once it comes out of the vacuum sealed bag though. It’s packed so tight by the vacuum that no air can get in the solid block to help it separate, which means you’re gonna have to put in some elbow grease to get it apart.Overall I’m happy with the foam though. It’s served its purpose and is pretty much exactly what I expected.

I opened the package and the foam never expanded. It seems as if it’s melted or frozen into the shape of the bag it was compressed in. The pieces seem to almost be glued together and I would have to sit there and break them all apart to fill the bean bag I intended it for.EDIT: FINALLY, after hours of it sitting in my bean bag they began to expand. After reading other reviews where everyone claimed they started to expand right away I was confused why mine took so long. However now that they have, they work great and my only complaint is that I didn’t buy enough to fill my bean bag.

Works well- expands a lot but probably need 3-4 bags to fill a bean bag sufficiently. Came very vacuum sealed & expands quite a bit!

This is much closer to normal foam than memory foam. I'm comparing it to other shredded memory foam I purchased. Off gassing is moderate.

I purchased this alongside a king sized pillow. I'm a pregnant back sleeper which isn't exactly ideal. The original pillow just wasn't plump enough. I need my pillow to be firm as I sleep in a reclined position. This filler was AMAZING! It was shipped ridiculously fast. And even though it came vacuum sealed all I needed to do was seperate it with my hands for it to fluff right up. When you squeeze the foam pieces and release the spring back is pretty much instant. Plus there was no smell nor any of the coating you sometimes feel with gel foam. I am so pleased I now have the pillow I initially wanted and needed and it is darn comfortable! Highly recommended.

This foam is terrible. It smells horrible. It's vacuum sealed in plastic and has that foam skin still on it so it clumps together so horribly. I ordered 20lbs of this which arrived in 4 bags that are 5lbs each and I have mow spent the last 2 hours picking it apart so it will expand and I'm just now through the first bag. The first brand I bought was dump and go. None of this picking business.
