This battery operated router works well for light and softer woods, and the kit that comes with it has decent bits and accessories that come with it. The router has a safety lockout switch, which is convenient for not accidentally turning it on. Unfortunately the safety switch is immediately adjacent to the on/off switch and is the same shape and feel, so there is some risk of hitting it by mistake. The light does turn on when the safety is off, so I don't think it's unsafe, just a little inconvenient.When powered on the router jumps to speed instantly, so there is no waiting for it to speed up. The slowdown after use is pretty quick, so not much waiting before you can set it down again either. Overall the operation of this router is very good.There are two weaknesses in this router that I see - the first is that when you try to use it on any harder woods it burns through the batter pretty quickly and slows a bit so that it's not a fast tool to use. The second builds on that, in that the router is heavy. Feeling the router without the battery on it feels solid with a reasonable weight and good balance. But when you put the battery on it doubles the weight and puts it all at the top of the machine. that makes it imbalanced and much harder to control, and with the heaviness of it that makes it uncomfortable to handle for any real length of time.So if you have softer woods and smaller projects this is a very convenient tool, but for any mid to larger size projects it might not be the best.

Look's like it will do what i need

Upon opening and trying out the unit I found that the unit could not hold the correct depth. The screw for tighten the plate will only tighten to a certain point. As I was trying to use the unit the plate would slide and not hold in place.

Lightweight easy to handle did the job. Seller was helpful too.
