I purchased my shepherd's pole Oct 2022. It's now Feb 2024 and I've been using it every day since purchase. I should point out though, I use the pole without extending it because for my purpose it works perfectly in its shorter state.I've got multiple windows with curtains on rods (not grommets), which can be a pain to open and close. Every morning I go around to all the windows to use the pole to open the curtains - I feel like the butler in old movies who comes in to let in the sunshine and awaken the household LOL. In the evening after closing the curtains, I hang the pole by its hook from one of the curtain rods.The hook is especially useful because some of the rods have that annoying join where the curtain doesn't want to go across - I put the hook into the opening where the rod goes and can then easily lift the fabric to get it past that spot.Other ways I've used it: to put a hanger over the curtain rod bracket (drying damp laundry in the sunshine); drag an item from behind or under furniture - the hook makes it work much better than a broom handle; pretend I'm a drum major as I high-step march across the livingroom.

This is an amazing tool. I have had it for more than two years and am constantly delighted at what I can do with it. I am in my 70s and don't like to climb. This has saved me many a trip up a step ladder. It is well built. I have no complaints. I simply would not be without it.

Got this to make it easy to pull down my hanging plants to water them and it works great for short distances but the full length is where I’m afraid it’s going to break. I managed to pop off the hook bit from the end and got the rod stuck in the other hit but with an IOT managed to get it out and glued the hook back on and added a rubber stopper to the tip of the hook so the plant hanging rings wouldn’t slip off. Wish the hook was a bit more grippy.

It Works to hang clothes on a higher rod. This seems to work very well. Sometimes the hanger slides back on the hook. This has been a big help to me because I can't reach very high. This pole is well worth the price which I thought was very Reasonable.

It is light weight, very sturdy, easy to extend and to lock in at whatever length you choose. Comfortable hand grip. After much research and comparisons this is 100% the best choice. My wife loves it.

I ordered the Richards Homewares Shepherds Aluminium Pole with a 2.75-Inch Hook and Cushioned Handle, Lightweight, Extendable from 36 to 62-Inch, Silver to allow me to reach my bird feeders from my deck. The pole is lightweight and was very easy to adjust the length. It felt secure when I locked it into position. Although is it not yet snowing, I was able to ‘test’ the functionality today. One of my bird feeders was hanging with the top off when I woke up today. I used the pole to remove it from the shepherd’s hook so I could fill and secure the top. One finished, I used the pole to put it back in place – all without leaving my deck. I have no doubt I will find other uses for this around the house. I would absolutely recommend this extendable pole!

Got this to help me upload a filled bird feeder on a hook placed on a tree branch. However, this pole was unable to take the weight of the bird feeder (quarter full) and started buckling, even with the extension length closed. Kind of a wasted purchase, unfortunately. The screw-on part to open/close the extension length is a bit sketchy too, as it keeps getting stuck, will see how long it lasts.
