Accidental Magic: A whimsical witchy midlife mystery: Myrtlewood Mysteries Book 1

I enjoyed this book a lot, especially liking the main characters and Myrtlewood. I love the magic elements. I liked the relationship between Rosemary and Athena, I got Gilmore girls vibes from it even though I've only ever seen a couple of episodes, but if Gilmore Girls had magic. If I was being overly critical I would say that some parts feel very quick to escalate and be resolved quickly, however as much as a lot more detail and 'how' and 'why' could be included and is what I'm used to in the fantasy books I read, on reflection I quite liked that this was a quick read because it wasn't overly in-depth so I didn't find it arduous and it still built up a very vivid image in my head of what was happening,which to me is important. I would love to live in Myrtlewood and cannot wait to read the rest of the books because it's an utterly joyous reading experience.

Reasonably well written and entertaining.Not nearly as many spelling or grammar issues as there normally are with Unlimited books. Nothing too heavy or in-depth - mythical / Wiccan content is very light. Exactly what I needed at the end of a hectic year. Soothed my frazzled brain nicely.

I found this book when i was struggling with getting back into reading, I was finding my focus would wander and life was becoming too stressful to concentrate on a book. Then I ordered this! It is such a perfect mix of mystery and drama with lighthearted and lovable characters. It was so easy to read, it felt like a huge warm hug or a cozy roaring fire. Such a feel-good book without the heaviness of some others. The added twist of magic made it even more enjoyable! I am now nearly finished book 3, they have become my favourite place to escape to!

I had to search out the nationality of the writer as I was thoroughly confused when prairies came into what I assumed was an English landscape, and then we had lamingtons (not very likely in the UK) in the cake shop ... Apart from that, this started out a bouncy read but I suspect it could have been wrapped up rather more quickly. It also could have been better proof read, but readers seem to be very flexible on this these days.Having said all that (grump grump), if you want an easy, entertaining read, with a muddle-headed mother and a teen wise beyond her years, a bit of magic, and characters who would do well in Harry Potter, then this is your book.

All the characters keep you wanting more. Couldn’t put it down as the story pulls you in. Marvellous story line

A truly great read. Gilmore girls meets practical magic. Perfect. Great characters and I'm looking forward to book two already.

I enjoyed this book right from the prologue. A light, fast paced adventure. The characters are likeable and mystery reveals itself at the perfect moment. I am going to look for book 2 right now
