I love speck products, and the CandyShell Glossy Case for iPhone 5 is an excellent example of why. First off, I love the colors, and the different color combinations available. But on to more important things... One of the great things about the iPhone 5 is that it is slimmer than its predecessors, and I would hate to lose that slimness because of a big bulky case. The speck case adds a layer of excellent protection without adding too much size to the phone. One of my favorite things is that the speck case has a hard layer outside, and a softer, gel-like layer on the inside. It gives it an good amount of protection without adding the amount of bulk that many other cases do. The one gripe I used to have about speck cases has actually been fixed on the iPhone 5 case. The previous models just had rubber around the charger, which made those areas less durable and prone to breaking. Because the design of the charger has changed, so has the case, problem solved! My only issue (and this is probably actually a good thing) is that the rubbery layer picked up some lint the one time I put it in my jeans pocket. It got blue fuzzies all over it. This was a good reminder to not keep my phone in my pants pocket! But a heads up if you do carry your phone in a pocket, it might get linty. Granted I have had speck cases before this one that haven't had that issue... who knows, maybe it was a new jeans problem and not the case! I recommend this to anyone who wants a nice looking, durable case that offers protection without adding too much bulk. I love mine, and I would recommend it (or most speck products in general) to anyone!

I love these cases, they are light, form-fitting and they are good all-round protection for your 5. I always buy more than one to switch out if I get bored. The ones I had for my 4 were so good i bought the same (similar, the plastic shell on this one is shinier and slightly less opaque). Love how the corners are rubber to allow the case to flex but still maintain integrity (read: less cracking under stress) when dropped. Pros: - Cheap. Enough to replace ot buy more than one at a time (this is just good practice anyway.) - Tough. I'm consistently tough on HW, this is my go to case because it's well designed in my opinion. - CUTE! (sorry, I'm still female) It's shiney. This one is pink. I like pink. Cons: - if the interior rubber is any color other than black, then the edges tend to peel off quicker than the black. This is not a deal breaker, just make sure you have a screen protector. - Probably not for you if you like sliding your phone into a pants pocket. - There are consistent failure points where the hardshell plastic is narrow. BUT again not a deal breaker as the rest of the case is strong enough to compensate and still protect from drops. - I've only had it on for a month but I assume this one will scratch. Not a big deal to me because I'm more for the functionality (even though I like the shiney and pink.)

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure it could hold up to a drop. Everyone warned me about using a case that wasn't an Otterbox or similar level of protection. But I didn't want the bulk, and I finally went with the Speck Candyshell. I love it. I didn't think it would be able to protect my phone if I dropped it, but I've dropped it numerous times on concrete, in the driveway getting in/out of my vehicle, etc. and it has really held up nicely! Yeah the case is a little scratched, and after 3-4 months of heavy use, I can honestly say this case offers a great level of protection of the iPhone 5. There are no bumps or scratches on the phone itself. I took the phone out to inspect the back, and it's still like a brand new iPhone 5. I use this black and dark grey Speck Candyshell with a Spigen SPG Ultra Oleophobic screen protector (the screen protector can be a pain to put on, but it's really a great quality screen protector. I had to buy a second set just to get one on correctly [took me 4 tries and I'm usually really good about putting them on with little error], but it was worth it and I have no complaints). If you're looking for great protection, get the Candyshell. Yes, there will be scratches on your case, it's PLASTIC after all. But it does give your phone a good amount of protection. Definitely get a screen protector, too. I'm sure my screen would be all scratched up if I hadn't gotten the Spigen SPG screen protector.

I used to use Otterbox knockoffs which cover the border of the phone so that for instance the charger whole won’t get wet. I miss that on this case as when it rains, it for sure can get a little wet there and then I get the error from the phone that I should’nt charge due to risk of liquid damage. Besides that, I really do like the case. It’s thin, low profile and actually quite protective. I have dropped my phone from hand height 3-4x since purchase onto my tile floors without any damage. The case also feels really nice and smooth and I think has a nice sensory feel to it. I will say that when dirty, it can tend to look greasy but it’s easily cleanable.

Fits and looks great. Very secure grip. Nice colors and protects well.

...provided you buy it here at Amazon. I'm not sure I'd feel that way if I paid what they charge in the stores, but I didn't. I paid half as much here at Amazon. I've had this case for some time now and can attest to a number of facts: 1. The protection this case provides for drops is top notch. This is the case I use in situations that there's a higher than average possibility of a fall - going out, hiking, traveling - and it has held up to a number of drops from as high as my ear (I'm 5'10"). The pavement and rocks have taken a couple chunks out of the plastic on the corners, but at least it was the plastic on this case instead of the fragile aluminum body of the iPhone - the iPhone looks as good as new, as well! 2. I'm a frequent case switcher. The rubber has not stretched, the case has not cracked, I have had ZERO issues with any wear from taking it off/putting it on the iPhone. It's a tight fit but once you get the method down, taking it off and putting it on is a breeze. 3. The buttons have an awesome feel to them. Accessibility to the camera and other ports is top notch. The earphone hole is plenty big for both the Apple earpods and my Sennheiser headphones. Did I mention how great the buttons feel? Also, the edges wrap around so they do protect the screen (you can lay it on a table upside down, or slide it across the street, and the screen doesn't touch). 4. The only negative I can find is that the glossy plastic finish scratches, and very easily at that. But then if you're buying a case to keep pristine, then I don't know what to tell you. They really don't bother me, but I felt it needed mentioning. Overall, I'm very happy with this case. Tonight, while running across the parking lot on a cold (9 below zero) Minnesota night, the thing flew out of my pocket and went bouncing and sliding across the parking lot. I cringed because it seemed slightly more violent than most drops. I picked it up, dusted it off, and was on my way. Now that I'm home I've inspected the phone, and it's as good as new. Yet another incident that made me ignore the scratching and give it a 5-star rating. If you're concerned with scratches on your phone, but this case. If you're concerned with scratches on the case, move along.

Great case! Very functional

I really like the look of this Speck CandyShell Glossy case, but there are some downsides as well. First, the positives about this case: 1. I really appreciate how slim this case is. It doesn't add too much weight or size to my iPhone, which I bought because I wanted a thin and lightweight phone. This case makes me feel like my phone is protected without too much extra bulk. 2. This is a good-looking case. Mine is pink with black rubber, and I don't think it takes away from the elements that make the phone attractive. I like the Speck logo, so I don't mind too much that the Apple logo is covered on the back of the phone. 3. Everything is accessible. Several years ago I owned an iPod touch case that I had to remove to charge the device and I hated it. The Speck case makes charging/headphone jacks accessible, as well as the power button and ringer silence switch. The sides of the case don't interfere with the sides of the screen, so I'm able to use all features of the phone. The volume buttons are covered with rubber buttons, but they function just fine. 4. There's not much rubber on the outside. This is a personal preference, but I carry my phone in my pocket and whenever I've had a phone case with a lot of rubber on the outside, I find that I gets covered in lint. It also has to be attached to the case really well in order to avoid peeling on the way into and out of my pocket. And I've found that many rubber cases get caught as I'm taking the phone out of my pocket, causing me to drop my phone, which is an annoyance. Again, this is a personal preference, but I like that the Speck case doesn't have rubber on the outside. Now, the negatives: 1. Peeling rubber. When I first received this case, I really loved that it was all one piece. My husband has an Otter Box Commuter case, which comes as two pieces: The rubber inner piece and the hard outer shell. I thought this was unnecessary and overkill. However, in the two short weeks I've been using my Speck case, the rubber on the inside has already started to peel off. Not only has it started to peel away from the outer shell, it has also begun to stretch so little pieces hang over the edge. This is a major turnoff that not only makes the case unattractive, but it defeats the purpose of the one-piece case. 2. Scratches. Many people have mentioned that the Speck case gets scratched very easily and looks very beat-up within a few weeks of use. After two weeks, I've already noticed this a little bit, and it is only going to get worse. Overall this really is an attractive case and I wanted so badly for it to work for me, but if the rubber keeps peeling at this rate, I'll need a new case within a month.

Premetto che il mio pollice opponibile ha problemi con i cellulari, per quanto mi impegni, mi cade per terra più volte di quante vorrei. A volte fa dei voli a parabola che neanche io so spiegarmi. Con questa custodia il telefono è sempre salvo. Cade di lato, di punta, sul fronte.. non gli capita nulla. Avevo una CandyShell su i-phone 4 e dopo tre anni di cadute ero riuscita a crepare la custodia, ma il telefono era nuovo; ho dovuto rottamarlo perché il software mi aveva abbandonata. Ho fatto fatica a trovarla per i-phone 5, che sta già diventando obsoleto, ma se anche voi siete un po' pasticcioni ogni centesimo speso per questa custodia vi darà grandi soddisfazioni.

Me gusta mucho la marca Speck porque en verdad ofrece lo que promueve. Sus fundas son súper resistentes y además durables (ya tenía un par de años con la anterior) Llevo ya 1 mes con esta funda transparente y me encanta, aunque empiezo a ver que lo más probable es que la parte interior que es de material flexible tipo silicon se puede poner amarilla con el uso.
