I was surprised at the difference (Nose and Mouth Mask user)
First, if you expect the travel CPAP units to be as quiet as your larger ones at home, give up now and haul your big unit around with you. I have had 3 different units over the years and returned two of them right away. They all are noisier than the larger home-based units. I finally got a MiniAir from Resmed, which has been the best. Unfortunately, to me, it still sounded like a jet plane taking off at night and often was a discouragement to use. I use my Mini when traveling for work, and often, since I am alone, didn't use it due to the noise and I do not sleep as well. With this last trip, I added the Muffler and a Humidity unit. I also got the adaptor for my normal hose and left the travel Resmed mask at home, and used the mask I have attached to my home unit (Perkel). Like magic the system was much more quiet and comfortable. Both the muffler and mask change helped. I highly recommend the muffler for those sensitive to the sound and who use a full mask and not nose pillows.

Helped a lot-can fall asleep easily
5 stars because I had difficulty sleeping using my Airmini and Airmini tubing because it was way to loud. After swapping out the tubing for standard tubing and adding the q-lite muffler, the noise from the Airmini no longer makes it difficult to sleep. I took dB readings and it is quantifiable quieter with the muffle and standard tubing. Recommend it to anyone struggling with the Airmini noise.

It works!
I got this to use with my Resmed Mini. If you have the Mini, you know, in "stock" form, it's really not that quiet. The part where you put the humidifier disks is very noisy. I purchased an adapter so I could use my regular CPAP hose and mask. That alone made a sizable difference, but it still wasn't as quiet as I'd prefer - certainly not as quiet as my tabletop model. Then I found this Muffler. I attach it to the Mini, then attach my regular 6' hose. It made the machine much quieter, very similar to my Resmed Airsense 10. I was able to use it during several trips and my wife was very pleased. I like it so much that I now attach it to the Airsense 10 to quiet it a little more. I definitely recommend this product. Here's an update. After using this product for a couple of years, I can still say it works to quiet CPAPs--the mini and "regular" models. Longevity is another matter, which is why I lowered it to 4 stars. My first purchase ended up cracking. A little duct tape and it was (almost) as good as new. It is now my backup. My second purchase has had issues, too. The plastic housing opens on one end. This is a good thing: I feel it needs to be cleaned when I clean my hoses, masks, etc. Cleaning is easy, but there are small "clips" that hold the end on. I've broken half of them, so that end is getting loose. Bottom line is it muffles sound, especially well on the mini, but I use it with my airsense all the time to lower the sound. I still recommend it, but realize you'll be purchasing one annually, as they do break.

Plain and Simple. It does not work.
I don't typically give bad reviews, but for $35, I expected at least something! This thing does absolutely nothing to quiet my Resmed AirMini. I woke up in the middle of the night to the roaring sound of it and removed the inline muffler to see if it made any difference. It did not. Not much more I can say.

This thing actually works (to my surprise)
I bought a ResMed AirMini for travel and it was so loud as to be unusable. The motor sound seems to travel down the hose and is so loud as to affect my sleep. Before getting rid of the thing, I decided to try this sound dampener. I was skeptical, but other reviews suggested it works. And it does work. The sound is probably 80% less while using this muffler, such that I barely noticed it. I sleep with a fan for white noise, and the sound is barely louder than the fan. The ResMed is now usable, which is great given its size. Give this a shot before you toss your loud mini CPAP in the garbage. Note the product is for the standard hose size, not the smaller diameter hose you might use for your mini.

Life saver for my Airmini/F40 mask but questionable durability
Edit 2: After 50 days of ownership but barely 15 days of use, I noticed I was having some minor noise and pressure issues. Upon close visual inspection of the muffler, I found out it had a hairline crack near the hose plug end. I am removing 2 stars due to this issue. The product durability and manufacturing quality is definitively concerning. Edit 1: After 10 days of use, continues to work as expected. However, I must caution: when removing the CPAP hose conector from the muffler, hold the muffler conector part tightly so that the removal force does not take it apart. It came out once and luckily, it did not break so I was able to reinsert it. They should definitively redesign this piece but I am not taking a star away just warning customers to be gentle when detaching their hoses. Original review: This little muffler is a game-changer. I purchased an AirMini to pair it with my favorite Resmed F40 mask. The mask was comfortable to use with the Airsense 11 device but unbearable to use with the AirMini due to the turbine noise. After some google research the Q-lite muffler showed up so here we are after my first night of sleep with the winning equipment, I can say its almost as silent as when using the Airsense 11. I want to share that I also used a universal HME filter for humidification. I am not sure if it also contributed to the noise reduction.

Yes, you can use this with a CPAP Air Mini - but you need more than just this
Can you use this with a CPAP Air Mini - Yes... but... not by itself. I struggled with my Mini because it was like trying to sleep with an F15 idling its engines right next to me and I never could get a wink of sleep. So in a quest to find a solution that was both portable and useful, here is what came up with. First you need to plug into the AirMini. There are plenty of options on Amazon to do this, in the picture you will find one I 3-D printed with a free model that someone put on one of the 3-D sharing sites. Unless you happen to have a 3-D printer, just go with one of the many that you can find on Amazon. The muffler comes with a tube that will attach to both the muffler and the adapter to the Mini. Congratulations you have just connected to the Mini. You are halfway there. Next is the harder part. If you are like me, you want to use the mask that came with the Mini because it has those humidity disks. The problem is that the hose that comes with the mini only attaches to the mini. There is a way around this. Use a GOOD pair of scissors and cut off the factory adapter from your hose. Next, order one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09HV22XHF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 One side of this adapter will connect directly to the muffler. The other side has a type of female thread in it, your hose will 'screw' into this thread and believe it or not will make an airtight and quite secure hold. I was surprised, I thought that it would need some sort of sealant but it works just fine. Now you have your AirMini connected through the muffler and the muffler will knock the sound down quite a bit. Down to nothing.... no, that is too much to ask. From aircraft carrier flight deck to background noise so you can sleep - yes, it will do that. Now if you want to use this on a plane/train/automobile and you don't have an outlet I have a solution for that too. You will need two things: 1. an adapter cable to go from the AirMini to a USB-C port and 2. a battery with enough juice to power the unit all night long. These are what I am using and they work rather well. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089D4176K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 and https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BV1J88GV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Two tricks you need to know. 1. this adapter has two usb-c ports. You want to use the one closest to the edge, that is the higher capacity port. 2. sequence matters. I think that you need to plug the adapter into the battery first, and then into the AirMini. Do it in the wrong order, you will not break anything but you will get flashing light on the Mini and it will not work until you unplug it and do it again in the right order. Hope this helps. -J
